Main characters
Horokeu Usui334 fan favoritesExternal profileHorohoro is an Ainu from Hokkaidou, a prefecture in Japan. In the English anime, he is described as from "the Northern Woods" instead of from Hokkaido. Horohoro's main goal in the Shaman Fight is to save the Koro Pokkuru ("Minutians" in the English anime), a tiny spirit people. As part of this goal, he intends to plant a vast field of Butterbur. His guardian ghost is Kororo ("Corey" in the English anime), a spirit who is smitten with Manta Oyamada. Also in the manga, he becomes the third strongest of the Five Elemental Warriors and gains the Spirit of Rain. His furyoku is 120,000 (as seen in chapter 276). This, oddly, makes him "technically" stronger than both Yoh and Tao Ren, who have more importance in the series than him, who only have 108,000 and 100,001 furyoku respectively. Horohoro is good-natured and cheerful, but he gets serious in dangerous situations. He argues constantly with his teammate Tao Ren, and they do not seem to get along at all. However, it is shown that he really does care for him when, in the manga, he tells You Asakura that if he can't save Ren, as his friend, HoroHoro would never forgive him. Horohoro is also very secretive about his past not willing to talk about it even to his friends. In addition, Horohoro can also get very competitive, even going so far as to turn Ryuu's arms to ice and shatter them during the fight between The Ren and Funbari Onsen. Horohoro's name sounds and is spelled (in Katakana) like "boroboro," which means "crap." Characters mispronouncing/misspelling his name is a running gag in the series. It's later reveled that Horohoro's real name is Usui Horokeu. In Shaman King: Kang Zeng Bang, (Source: Wikipedia)
Jun Tao47 fan favoritesExternal profileAge: 17 Birthdate: October 10, 1981 Blood type: A Jun is the older sister of Tao Ren. She is a dao-si (a Daoist priest) who can reanimate corpses. Her jiāngshī (guardian zombie, in Japanese, "kyonshii") is Lee Bailong (known as Lee Pai-Long in the anime), a famous kung-fu movie star similar to Bruce Lee who died 17 years ago. She used Jufu talismans to control Lee Bailong before, but after she battles Yoh Asakura and Amidamaru and loses, she realizes that spirits have a heart too, and they just can't be controlled. Jun lets Bailong obey her commands only if he wishes to. In the manga and the original anime, Jun's father is named Tao Yúan (道円, also known as "Tao En"), and her mother is named Ran. In the English anime, her father is dead and En is her uncle. In the English anime, Len and Jun have British accents. (Source: Wikipedia, edited)
Lee Pyron2 fan favoritesExternal profile"The White Dragon," Lee Pyron was a kung fu movie star who was murdered by the Tao clan to be Jun's jiangshi bodyguard. He is a thinly-veiled reference to Bruce Lee, who died under suspicious circumstances. Technically, he is not a spirit, but a living corpse reanimated using Tao Jun's "ofuda." However, he can be considered to be serving a similar purpose, since he serves Tao Jun and hangs around her perpetually. He is known as Lee Pai-Long in the English anime. Pyron was born on November 29, 1948 and died mysterious at the age of thirty; his body disappeared after his funeral. It is later revealed that Pyron was murdered to be Tao Jun's guardian jiangshi. Once he becomes self-aware again, he forgives Jun for what her family did to him and becomes very attached to her. Lee Pyron's sensei, Sha-wen (Shaolin in the English anime), founded a variation of the Chaolin ("super forest") Temple Style (a parody of Shaolin). Sha-wen created the Ruichong-quan kung-fu (Eijuken in the English anime). Sha-wen's Ruichong-quan kung-fu was the basis of Pryon's style, the Daodan-do (daodan is Chinese for "missile"), which combined Boxing, Muay Thai, and Karate. Before Pryon died, he intended to create a perfect version of it and he intended not to pass it on until he finally perfected it. Pyron died before he could complete his art form. Various Daodan Do moves include Fu chong Hong Zha si (dive bomber, a series of matrix like flips), followed by Hong Zha Jiao (Bomb kick, a thrust to the face using the right leg) or the Dao Dan Jiao (rochet kick, a sudden thrust to the body with the legs).
