A young girl Nae is ostracized for always talking to herself; but in reality, she converses with a bizarre creature that is only visible to her. Following the death of her beloved grandfather in a tragic car accident, Nae feels that a spectral force is at work, prompting her to cause a ruckus at her kindergarten. Given the circumstances, a specialist is summoned to assess the situation: Hiromasa "Nine" Tsukumo, an eccentric individual who is shadowed by his own abnormal companion.
