Synopsis
After death, another gate opens for victims of unspeakable crimes, terrible accidents, and hellish lives. The Gate of Grudges is guarded by a lady named Izuko, who offers those that enter three options: to accept their death and ascend to Heaven, to remain on Earth as a ghost, or to haunt and kill someone. While the last option is appealing to most, the moral implications of their actions will cost them an eternity of damnation in Hell. As each victim has 12 days to weigh their options, Izuko is there to guide them to a decision they will not regret. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Skyhigh was released in Italian by Edizioni Star Comics from September 10, 2003 to October 10, 2003; and in Spanish by Ediciones Glénat. The series was adapted into a live-action Japanese TV series that aired on TV Asahi for two seasons from 2003 to 2004. The manga was also adapted into a live-action Japanese film that premiered on November 8, 2003.

Izuko13 fan favoritesExternal profileThe Izuko is the "Keeper of the Gate of Grudges" who presents each soul with three choices: pass through the Gate of Grudges to heaven and be reborn, refuse to admit death and remain as a ghost on earth, or haunt and kill one person and then proceed to hell and eternal suffering. In the first Skyhigh, Izuko was a stillborn baby, so she arrived at the gate without even knowing which option she would choose. In the end, the superiors decided to make the gatekeeper. The only rule is that she can't choose the option for the person, or she would fall in hell. In Skyhigh Karma, the Izuko who supercedes Anna, still with an unknown name, has the ability to see into the future. She died in a car accident along with her family, which she saw a vision of, and blamed herself for it. Unlike her family who went to heaven, she chose to be the next gatekeeper to repent. In Skyhigh Shinshou, the Izuko herself stated that she was aborted. No voice actors have been added to this character. Anna1 fan favoritesExternal profileAnna was a 18 years old girl who didn't want to go outside her house because she was scared of the world. Spending her days closed in a house taking care of her daughter made Anna's mother crazy, and she ended up murdering Anna. Then she cut off Anna's arm and threw it away. No longer after that, Anna's grandfather found the body and decapitated the body, hiding the head somewhere. When Anna arrives at the Gate and meets the Gate-keeper, she realizes that she spent her entire life doing nothing just because she was scared of something that she didn't even know would really happen, and gets sad, saying that the problem was that she was never loved. The gate keeper Izuko tells Anna that she was a selfish girl and that she never tried to consider the amount of suffering that she caused to her mother and her grandfather, but that there exists someone who loves her, and shows Azuma, Anna's father, writing a book about Anna's life, even if it was short. Anna then decides to take the gate keeper place and to become Izuko, so she can help the sad souls that arrive at the gate to choose a way to go. No voice actors have been added to this character.
