About this title

Synopsis

In 2010, the Holy Britannian Empire invaded the small, far-east country of Japan. Within one month, the nation fell at the hands of Britannia's advanced war machines known as Knightmares, and the country was renamed Area 11. After an explosion whisks her brother away to an unknown fate, Nunnally Lamperouge—exiled princess of Britannia—mysteriously finds herself in the midst of a skirmish between Britannians and terrorists. Crippled and blind due to past events, she is saved by Nemo, a strange talking doll who grants her a potent personal Knightmare and clairvoyance, also known as Geass. Despite the strength of her newfound abilities, Nunnally only wishes for peace. However, the appearance of more Geass users, the spectral vigilante Zero, and other violent forces make the harsh reality of the world all too clear for the fragile princess. He is the Eleventh Prince of the Holy Britannian Empire and the son of the 98th Emperor of Britannia, Charles zi Britannia. Lelouch is a very clever individual who is also calm, sophisticated, and arrogant due to his aristocratic upbringing. While at school, Lelouch conducts himself as a friendly, likable, and often an easygoing student. However, this is a mask to hide his true nature. While as Zero, his true nature is expressed. His charisma and beliefs in justice gain him the trust and respect of many soldiers and leaders. He is known for having a very stoic personality. He never cared about schoolwork, seeing the entire thing as trivial, even though his high intelligence would make it easy for him. He enjoys seeking out challenges, often playing chess against the nobility. In general, Lelouch takes most day-to-day affairs with open disinterest, often not even noticing the affection of others, especially Shirley, his classmate. He has a strong dislike for nobles, viewing them as tepid and "overprivileged parasites." Many characters have noted that Lelouch is entirely selfish, as his desire to remake the world into what he wants it to become from his desire to avenge his mother's apparent death and Nunnally's sake. However, in time, he realizes that this goal is not just for them but also the entire world. Despite his cold, calculating demeanor and ruthlessness in battle, he can be a rather compassionate person to his friends and loved ones. To Nunnally, he is a loving older brother, and to Suzaku, a loyal friend, although the two are enemies. Lelouch, at first glance, seems to have relatively little concern for the well-being of his subordinates, but in reality, he does care about them, seeing them as valuable allies. Background (as Lelouch): Background (as Zero): First Season: Second Season: Geass: Lelouch's Geass, bestowed upon him by C.C., gives him "The Power of Absolute Obedience," allowing him to plant commands within a person's mind upon eye contact in a manner comparable to hypnosis. Activation of his Geass is visually represented by the manifestation of a Geass Sigil in his left eye. Commands dictated are written into the minds of the designated targets, the Sigil projecting him from his eye to theirs. Of all the Geass abilities in the series, Lelouch's has been explored the most and also seems to have the most restrictions, and side effects of any Geass introduced:(Source: Code Geass Wiki, Villains Wiki, Heroes Wiki, Anime and Manga Universe Wiki)

He dedicated his cause not to endorse terrorism or rebellion, which he believed would only result in the pointless killing. Unwilling to sacrifice the innocent, he also had a strong sense of loyalty, never questioning the orders of his superiors. Despite that, elders showed him to be willing to stab them in the back if necessary. Age: 14 (first season), 15 (second season) Date of Birth: October 25, 2003 a.t.b. (Scorpio) Blood Type: AB Nationality: Britannian Height: 160 cm (5'3") Occupation: Student (Formerly), Politician, Royalty, Princess Allegiance: Holy Britannian Empire Position: Viceroy of Area 11 Nunnally vi Britannia (ナナリー・ヴィ・ブリタニア, Nanarī Vui Buritania), is one of the main supporting characters of Code Geass. She was formerly a Princess of the Holy Britannian Empire and the Eleventh Prince Lelouch vi Britannia's younger sister. Additionally, she was 87th in line to the imperial throne and the final Viceroy of Area 11. After she was exiled, she used the alias, Nunnally Lamperouge (ナナリー・ランペルージ, Nanarī Ranperūji). Throughout the series, Nunnally has shown to be almost inhumanly kindhearted, patient, and understanding. She endured her double handicap of blindness and paralysis with a smile and warmth, and she is kind to those around her. Nunnally has gentle ideals, and she is on a neutral side, meaning she will make the world a better place in her way. However, like Lelouch, Nunnally has shown that she can make heavy-hearted decisions bordering on ruthlessness and even attempted to perform actions that exceed her abilities. Despite this, Nunnally's greatest weakness is her kind heart, unable to be as cold and calculating as her brother. According to Lelouch, her most significant characteristic is her smile, which expresses gratitude to people around her. Nunnally cannot walk, see, or take care of herself, so the least she could do is smile. Character Background: First Season: Second Season: (Source: Code Geass Wiki)

Lelouch's twin brother that looks like Lelouch himself. Rolo had been taken from Marianne when he was a baby, due to the superstition of twin princes bringing misfortune. Therefore, his existence is unknown to Lelouch and Nunnally. He is involved with the Geass Order and known as The Cardinal. He pilots his very own customized Vincent Knightmare Frame and his piloting skills are somewhat ruthless and cold. He first appeared in chapter 10 with Schneizel, who is heading to Area 11, and later meets Suzaku, who can tell that he's not Lelouch. Like Nunally and Lelouch, Rolo has access to Geass powers, and is able to summon his own personal Vincent Knightmare Frame. His Geass, "The Ice", possesses the same ability as the original Rolo's (to halt one's experience of time) and as the name implies, encases its victims in a layer of ice. He plans to kill Nunnally and Lelouch so that he can take their powers to become the true Demon King and overthrow the Emperor. No voice actors have been added to this character. Alice is a tomboyish girl who is Nunnally's best friend and classmate, but is secretly an agent of the Irregulars assigned to the surveillance of Milly Ashford under the cover identity of a middle school student. Alice's normal physical abilities have been augmented with cells originating from C.C., giving her a Geass ability called "The Speed," which allows her to hyperaccelerate all objects within a given radius by manipulating gravitational pull. Designated by her unit to pilot a Knightmare Frame customized to exploit this ability, Alice serves as a highly effective point man on the field of battle. When her ability is active, a Geass sigil appears on her forehead. Alice's blood contains a chemical suppressant that minimizes the activity of C.C.'s biological matter, which has a tendency to strain and overtax the human body. A neutralizer for the suppressant may be administered to temporarily boost the effect of "The Speed" in battle, enabling movement of sufficiently high speed that it resembles teleportation. Alice's relationship with Nunnally in the spin-off is comparable to that between Suzaku and Lelouch in the anime. No voice actors have been added to this character. Nemo is a protagonist of the manga spin-off Nightmare of Nunnally along with Nunnally herself. Nemo is a mysterious energy life-form developed under Code R using a sample of C.C.'s cells. She is referred to by the Britannian military as a magical device. Shortly after being released alongside C.C. in the Shinjuku Ghetto, she encounters and enters into a contract with Nunnally, granting her a Geass ability that allows sight of "the lines of the future," effectively giving her precognition. She assumes an appearance resembling an albino Nunnally upon contract finalization, and the two of them come to share a single mind. Nemo's personality remains distinct from Nunnally, and is said to be an expression of Nunnally's unconscious anger and hostility. Normally disembodied and visible only to Nunnally, Nemo possesses Nunnally's body and temporarily restores it to a functioning state upon summoning the Knightmare Frame Mark Nemo, which they pilot as one. Their piloting style is thought by Cornelia to closely resemble that of the late Marianne. Nemo means "nobody" or "no one" in Latin, which may refer to her shadowy and enigmatic nature.
