Synopsis

As the continuation of Zeta Gundam, this series once again follows the story of the Anti Earth Union Group (AEUG) battleship Argama after Zeta's final episode. To fight off the Axis Zeon, now called the Neo Zeon, Captain Bright Noa recruits a group of teenage junk collectors led by the loudmouthed but powerful Newtype Judau Ashta to pilot the Argama's mobile suits. Now sporting a line up of the behemoth MSZ-010 Double Zeta Gundam and the returning MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam, RX-178 Gundam Mk-II and Gundam-like MSN-00100 Hyaku Shiki, the group is nicknamed the Gundam Team. As such, this became the first of a number of Gundam series where a team of Gundam mobile suits fight alongside each other regularly. The climax takes place at Side 3 in the Battle of Axis. Their parents moved to another colony to find work and they send money back to them. While scavenging for junk one day, Judau comes across the escape pod of Titans pilot Yazan Gable, who managed to survive the Gryps Conflict that concluded Zeta Gundam. Discovering that the Argama was in port at the same colony, Yazan forcefully brings Judau and his friends along to help attack the ship. Judau breaks free from Yazan in order to steal the Zeta Gundam and sell it. He and his friends attempt this numerous times but fail, usually ending up saving the Argama instead from Yazan or Neo Zeon troops. They ultimately befriend the crew and join the AEUG, where they become known as the "Gundam Team," with Judau piloting the Zeta Gundam. Judau's mission eventually becomes personal when the Neo Zeon kidnap Leina. He often goes into battle against orders since he is so desperate to save his sister. Strangely, Neo Zeon leader Haman Karn becomes fascinated with Judau and has a possible romantic interest in him. Although they are enemies, she always offers Judau - who is a Newtype like herself - a chance to join her side, which Judau always refuses. Artificial Newtype and Neo Zeon pilot Elpeo Puru also has a romantic crush on Judau. Eventually, Judau receives the Double Zeta Gundam (ZZ Gundam) from Anaheim Electronics and becomes its pilot. Judau was also the central character of the non-canon crossover manga with Space Runaway Ideon, Mobile Suit Vs. Giant God: Gigantis' Counterattack, where the UC universe is in fact the universe Ideon remade at the end of the apocalyptic movie conclusion and Judau is said to be the reincarnation of Ideon protagonist Cosmo Yuki. The "wildflower" of Judau's group. She's tough, spunky, and is as easy to tick off as Judau. Her main rival in the romance department is Roux Louka. She becomes the main pilot of the Gundam Mk. II after it is repaired and returned to the Argama.

A citizen of the space colony Shangri-La, Beecha Oleg originally worked alongside Judau Ashta as a junk dealer, but through a series of events,he becomes the pilot of Hyaku Shiki on the Argama. His unhappiness with military life and rivalry with Judau caused him to temporarily switch sides with Mondo Agake to Neo Zeon until the abuse they suffered from Gottn and the other crew members of the Endra made both of them realize they were happier on the Argama. However, as the conflict continues, Beecha grows out of his childish ways. Assuming command of the Argama's successor battleship, the Nahel Argama, he even finds the courage to express his affection for long time love interest Elle Vianno.
