Semantic Error began as a web novel on Joara, and was published in print by D&C Media under the B-Lab imprint (비랩) on January 10, 2020. It was adapted to a live-action TV drama series which aired for 8 episodes from February 16, 2022 to March 10, 2022, which was rereleased as a film on August 31, 2022. The original web novel has been published digitally in English by Publang since February 22, 2025. The print version has been licensed in English by Yen Press under the Ize Press imprint.
