He was caught and sentenced for his crimes against the government, being sent to a penal colony planet, separated from his fiancé. Several decades later, the ship received word that the revolution succeeded and they were due for return to earth. The trip back took 30 years, but the prisoners did not age (cryogenics). When he returns, he pledges to serve the current president, known as Damokuresu. Jess returns to his hometown to look for his fiancé, only to learn that she had fled the planet several years prior, and is likely dead. While serving the president, he earns himself the name "Yuukei the Killer" because he follows all of his orders to kill. Jess is sent by the president to an unnamed planet to eliminate a witch that inhabited it because every person to visit the planet never returned, inferring that she had killed each one. After being fed and taken care of by the witch, he confronts her. The witch asks for the story of his life, only for the witch to reveal that she is Annie, Jess's fiancé now age 91, and that Jess has actually been tricked into working under a tyrannical president. Jess is distressed to learn this, that he foolishly kills for a tyrannical president, like which he once actively fought against. That he came to kill his own fiancé, and that he did not immediately recognize her.

Jess Mimori's fiancé. Some time after Jess's prison sentence, Annie fled earth to escape the tyrannical government. After escaping, Annie stays on an unnamed planet and is forced to kill and eat all visitors in order to survive. By the time Annie is 91, her fiancé visits the planet, sent by the current tyrannical president in order to kill her for her murders.
