Synopsis

As Izaya Orihara wildly enjoys holding all the information about Ikebukuro's main players, Mikado Ryuugamine and Masaomi Kida stay by Anri Sonohara's side while she recovers. However, Kida seems to be faking a smile. Enraged by the circumstances that led to Anri's harm and his own helplessness, Kida returns to the world he vowed to never come back to after Izaya interfered with them—the Yellow Scarves gang. Once the Yellow Scarves' leader, Kida knows that many of his old team members may now be a part of the Dollars, but they are losing their trust in the group's misdirected ideals. With the power of the Yellow Scarves' unwavering loyalty behind him, Kida swears to clean up Ikebukuro's streets of all wrongdoers, especially those in support of the recently faced criminal, the Slasher. Durarara!! Kokinzoku-hen adapts the third novel in the series. It was published in English as Durarara!! Yellow Scarves Arc by Yen Press from September 23, 2014 to July 21, 2015. The series has also been released in Polish by Waneko since October 6, 2016.

Izaya has two younger sisters, Mairu and Kururi, who are twins and troublemakers. He claims to have grown up in a normal family whose only abnormal trait was their naming habits. He does not like his sisters and finds them to be unlovable, saying that if even he can not like them, he expects no one else to ever be able to either. His name comes from a combination of the biblical Isaiah and Japanese for "the one who looks over the crowd." In the novels, Shinra is the only person that Izaya doesn't consider as one of his "humans." Rather, Izaya considers Shinra as his only friend (which is rather rare).
