Synopsis

Every three hundred years, the Evil God's awakening foretells destruction and despair. To prevent this from happening, heroes known as the Braves of the Six Flowers are chosen by the Spirit of Fate, and marked with a crest as the saviors of the world. No matter what, there are always six heroes—but this time when the chosen convene, seven arrive. Adlet Mayer, self-proclaimed "strongest man in the world," is one of the seven Braves. Among others, there is also first princess Nashetania Loei Piena Augustra, loyal knight Goldov Auora, feline-esque assassin Hans Humpty, childish yet deadly Chamo Rosso, the stern Mora Chester, and loner Fremy Speeddraw. Though all are likely candidates for being Braves, there is only one explanation for the extra hero—the seventh is an infiltrator attempting to sabotage their mission and tear apart the Braves from within. With all evidence pointing to him, Adlet becomes the prime suspect, and finds himself on the run, desperately attempting to prove his own innocence. Fremy has the appearance of a frail girl with white skin and white hair, an eye patch covering her right eye, a leather cape as well as leather clothes, and a black cloth covering her forehead. Her left eye is almost transparent blue and her glare is cold and distrustful. Her eye patch is there to hide the unnatural color of her right eye, and the cloth hides the scar left by the broken horn on her forehead. Fremy is the Saint of "Powder." Her unique heredity allowed her to receive from the god a type of power that no one ever received before her, as "Powder" isn't among the 78 officially known types of Saints. As such, she's also the only Saint who isn't under the supervision of Mora. Her power allows her to freely create explosives during battles, and greatly increases the damage caused by her gun's bullets. In Rokka no Yuusha's world, guns aren't powerful enough to injure a kyouma, but in Fremy's case, she can easily kill most of the kyouma as well as most armored humans in one single shot. But because her gun needs to be reloaded after every fired shot, she's weak in close combat - as well as when she's surrounded.

Age: almost 18 One of the 7 heroes trapped inside the mist barrier. Self-proclaimed "strongest man on earth", he has the verbal tic of using those words in almost every sentence, a verbal tic that people often poke fun at, calling him an idiot. He has an abnormally strong will, never giving up even in the dire situations, as well as a strong sense of camaraderie and friendship. He defines himself as an "ordinary person", opposed to the other heroes who are either genius fighters or Saints. At the age of ten, after that all the people around him were either killed or taken away by the cunning kyouma leader Tgurneu, he became the disciple of Atoro, an old warrior specialized in the hunt and killing of kyouma, from who he undertakes a really harsh training for eight years. From him, he learned how to fight cunningly, using everything like darts, smoke bombs, explosives, traps in order to bring down his opponents, as well as how to craft those tools, the weaknesses of every type of kyouma, and gained scientific knowledge as well. Due to the harsh 8 years of training, he's really resilient and faster than most of the other heroes. He usually wears four leather belts with a lot of little pouches which are full of those tools, and fight strategically, trying to bring his opponent's guard down and surprise him with his different tools. His main weapon is a short sword, used more often in order to parry his opponent's attacks rather than to attack his opponents. He takes pride in his method of fighting, saying that the strongest man on earth is someone who uses everything to bring down his opponent and win. He's also well aware that for an ordinary person, becoming the strongest man on earth can only be done with this kind of methods. Because of those methods, he's looked down by others who call his ways of fighting dirty and despicable. With Mora, he's one of the two heroes who usually try to calm down others when they start fighting. He usually tries to talk things out rather than fight himself as well, and among the heroes, is the character who trusts the others the most easily. Because of what happened in his village, he harbors a strong hatred for Tgurneu.

Hans is one of seven heroes trapped in the mist barrier. Among the seven, he's the only hero whose name isn't well known, and for a good reason - he's an outstanding killer for hire. As he said himself, being famous would hinder his work. He never works for free, so after receiving the 6 petal flower crest he asked the king of the nearest kingdom for a reward in money before heading to the heroes' gathering point. Hans appearance is reminiscent of a cat, both by his cat-like broad smile, as well as the way he moves and acts. His speech pattern in Japanese is very distinctive, being a mix of tohoku dialect and cat speech. He's one of the smartest heroes, as well as one of the strongest, making for a deadly combination. Because of his keen mind, he's difficult to deceive, and since he enjoys killing strong opponents, he has no hesitation to attack suspicious allies as well. According to the Kyouma leaders, he's the most feared hero of the six flowers alongside with Chamo. In battle, he wields two wide blade knives and move around in an inhuman and completely unpredictable manner, sometimes rotating midair, sometimes temporarily walking on his fists, displaying at all times the flexibility of a cat. He's fast, silent, and deadly in all situations. Surprisingly, Chamo and he seem to have developed a mutual affection after a while. Chamo usually calls Hans "Neko-san".

Age: around 18 Nashetania is the first princess of Piena (which is the biggest and most influent kingdom in the continent), and as such, is first in line to succeed to the current King. She was also chosen as the new Saint of "Blades" three years ago. She has gorgeous looks with beautiful and long flaxen hair, big red eyes, plump lips and a charming face. She gives an impression of nobility and dignity by just standing still. In battle, she wears white armor with a helmet featuring two fake rabbit ears, and wields a rapier with a jewel mounted in the grip. Her power as the "Saint of Blades" allows her to create blade wherever she wants, which she can either use as projectiles or to impale her opponents by making the blades suddenly arise from the ground right below them. She can also use the blades to create a shield in front of her to protect herself from incoming projectiles. Nashetania has very different personalities depending on who she's with. This goes from an insouciant and easygoing young girl to a proper princess full of dignity, and can also be akin to the personality of a cruel mastermind or even a mischievous and playful woman at times. Because of this, it's difficult for the others to understand what her real feelings are, and she appears to be very manipulative by adapting herself to others in order to easily deceive them and to incite them in doing what she wants. She knows of Goldof's feelings for her, but doesn't seem to especially care about them. However, she completely trusts Goldof when it comes to protecting and saving her. She has an extremely high opinion of Goldof's fighting abilities, and believes that he'll rescue her no matter the number of enemies standing in his way. She was one of the most promising battle-oriented Saints and as such, received training regularly from Mora after inheriting the power of "Blades" three years ago.

Age: around 36 Mora is the very respected Saint of the "Mountain" as well as the head of the "Temple of the Whole World," the organization supervising the Saints. As such, she's in charge of making sure that the 78 Saints don't use god's powers for evil deeds, as well as organizing the training of promising new appointed Saints for the coming battle against the Majin. She is a woman with a tall figure, who looks around 5-10 years younger than her age, with long black hair floating freely in her back. She wears a blue priest garment and her arms are clad in two huge armored iron gantlets, which function both as protections and as blunt weapons. The power of the "Mountain" is very versatile, and composed of several simple powers rather than a big one. For example, she can increase greatly her strength, make her voice resonate clearly to people far away, and create healing bandages. Some of her powers can only be used in the mountains, like her senrigan, which allows her to see clearly everything happening on that mountain, even if it's happening several kilometers away. Mora's main happiness is her husband Ganna as well as her young daughter Shenilla. When she's with her daughter, she becomes like a different person, as the strict and full of dignity chief of the Saints suddenly becomes just your everyday doting parent. She is the only hero in the group who can control Chamo. Her calm and composed attitude as well as her natural authority makes for a natural choice as the leader of the heroes of the six flowers, although she's later replaced by Adlet.

Age: 14 Chamo is the Saint of "Swamp," and is said to be be the most powerful person in history besides the Saint of one flower. She received her power around seven years ago. She is a frail girl wearing a check-patterned dress with frills and a buffoon hat who usually walk around with a green foxtail in her hand. Selfish, has no cooperativeness, is easily bored or angered, and usually want to kill anything angering or bothering her. Because of her grotesque and tremendous power, she's extremely feared by her enemies, and was a priority target for Fremy. And because of her personality, she's feared as well by her comrades. The power of the swamp received from God allows Chamo to use her stomach as a swamp, creating a place to live for her minions. She doesn't eat normally, and instead eat any animal or kyouma interesting her. She then use the components eaten to either create new pets or to alter/reinforce the pets that she already tamed. Her pets range from creatures as small as mouses to creatures bigger than a human, and they all live in her stomach, where she can freely heal and alter them. When she needs to summon the pets, she use the green foxtail to make herself vomit the pets needed. Her pets are completely loyal to her, they will act of their own will to protect her even by sacrificing themselves, can regenerate in a few seconds from most lethal wounds. Chamo has a lot of affections for her pet, and will get angry to someone who makes them suffer or injures them heavily. She can summon more than 70 pets at the same time, and therefore technically has a whole army of monster at her command. Not all her pets are combat oriented, as small ones are used as reconnaissance units over and under ground. Since her pets are technically aquatic life forms, they are especially vulnerable to fire and extreme heat.

Age: 16 Goldov is one of the 7 heroes of the six flowers trapped in the mist barrier. He's the head of the Black Horns Knights from the country of Piena, and is completely loyal to its princess, Nashetania. He's said to be the strongest person in Piena. In fact, according to Nashetania, during last year's Piena's martial arts tournament when she fought against Goldov in finals, Nashetania only won because Goldov went easy on her. He's really formal around his princess, talking extremely politely. Goldov is a really tall, black haired man with a stern looks on his face. He wears a heavy and extremely resistant black armor and wield an heavy spear in battle. His helm has two curved horns mimicking a sheep's horns, and his spear is linked to his gauntlet by an heavy chain used like a lanyard. While Goldov is widely known as a young and talented knight, very few are those who know of his origin. Born from a petty thief and a prostitute, he lived until he was ten as a hoodlum in a small city located in the west of Piena. Very tall for his age, Goldov has always been ridiculously strong and fast. Extremely violent, he's subject to strong accesses of anger which make him lose all control of himself, and his anger usually don't dissipate until he kills everyone around him. Because of this, he was avoided by everyone in the town, as being involved with him meant risking to be killed for no apparent reason. When he was ten, he encountered the princess of his kingdom, who was running away from the king gone mad and his soldiers. He fell in love at first sight for Nashetania, without knowing her real identity. After rescuing her by assaulting alone a whole house full of guards in a bloody access of anger, he's saved and recruited among the Black Horns Knights who were faithful to the princess, and was given a forged name and origin. He learned to write as well as proper manners, and after winning Pienna's tournament at the age of 14 (which made him the youngest winner of this annual tournament in history), received the title of leader of the Black Horns Knights (although he only received the title as a reward, as in fact the old leader still continues to manage the knights as he used to do) as well as a special helm with two curved horns. After a while, he almost became Nashetania's personal guard, until he was given the order to capture the Six flower's killer. After spending months tracking any signs of the six flower's killer, he finally encountered Chamo and learned of Fremy. However, before being able to find her, he received the mark of the six flowers and immediately headed for the gathering point, leaving his mission unfinished. Goldov is a genius fighter, blessed with almost supernatural strength and speed as well as with a resilient and huge body. He's one of the best fighter among the heroes of the six flowers, and becomes even stronger when his princess is in danger. Goldov is usually calm outside of battle, but will attack without warning anyone who endangers Nashetania. She seems to be the only person who can calm Goldov's anger and therefore prevent blood to be spilled.

Age: ~700 - 1000 Tgurneu is one of the 3 Kyouma leaders alongside with Cargikk and Dozzu. He has 40% of the kyouma under his direct control, including powerful "special tools" who evolved to develop specific powers to their fullest under his order. He seems to be the most involved of the three leaders with the heroes' past. Among other things he did, he's responsible of what happened to Adlet's village 8 years earlier, and also seem to be the one who sent the unidentified fake hero of the six flowers among the heroes. It was also under his order that Fremy was born, and she started to hunt powerful warriors and Saints; it was under his order as well that she was betrayed after her failure against Chamo. Tgurneu is cunning, a master at lying and controlling people, and is the Kyouma who understand the best human feelings. He kept studying human emotions for hundreds of years, until he became able to pretty much predict human moves based upon which emotions he created in them. Even his real identity and form is full of lies and deception. It's often difficult to understand if Tgurneu is serious or just playing around, as it seems at times that he's more interested into playing with the six flower's feelings and sending them into despair than protecting the Majin. As the three leaders aren't in friendly terms, Tgurneu doesn't cooperate with the two others leaders and would not hesitate to kill them if he ever had the opportunity.

Rolonia is the Saint of "Fresh Blood", one of the heroes who received the mark of the heroes of the six flowers. Her power allows her to freely control her blood as well as any blood she's touching. She's a really docile girl wearing glasses, with a hesitant and gentle attitude. Because of this, the heavy armor that she's wearing couldn't look more out of place. Her helm reminds of a cow, with horns and large fake ears. In battle, she uses a long whip. Since the whip has her blood on it, she can freely manipulate it, allowing for extreme accuracy. If the whip hits her victim, Rolonia can drain a huge amount of blood from that victim, meaning that a few hits are usually enough to kill any kyouma, and that a single hit is usually enough to defeat a human opponent. Because her peaceful and hesitant personality doesn't go well with the heat of a battle, she motivates herself by shouting and swearing at her opponent. This is kind of a ritual for her in order to get temporarily rid of her usual personality. Rolonia's power allows her to accelerate greatly the healing power of the blood, as well as to stop hemorrhage, making her a really powerful healer. By tasting someone's blood, she can completely analyze it. By using that power with kyouma's blood, she can even determine the special(s) power(s) of the kyouma. As a Saint, Rolonia is a genius. Usually, Saints needs to learn how to use their powers before being able to do something, but in the case of Rolonia, she could already use the basics of her power right away, and quickly learned how to use it in really complex manners, like controlling perfectly the blood of a patient during a surgical operation. She completely trusts Adlet and Mora, and strongly supports peaceful ways to solve different situations.

Age: at least 300, probably far more Dozzu is one of three kyouma leaders alongside with Cargikk and Tgurneu. The current number of Kyouma under his direct command is unknown, but is believed to be really small compared to the other two leaders. 200 years ago, Dozzu was deemed as a traitor by the other two leaders and escaped the kyouma territory with his remaining forces in order to hide in the human kingdoms. There, he created a secret organization by recruiting humans who shared his aspirations. Among the humans who follows him, some are very influent nobles as well as members of royal families. Dozzu's current appearance is a mix between a squirrel and a small dog with a horn in the middle of his forehead. However, Dozzu has the power to change his appearance at will; so this form is merely the one he's currently using. Dozzu is the only kyouma able to manipulate electricity in order to attack with lightning strikes. According to Dozzu, it would be possible to make humans and kyouma live in peace with each other without all those recurrent wars. For this, it would be required: - to dispose of the current Majin and replace him with a Majin suiting his plan - to make the other two kyouma leaders as his subordinate, as well as - to purge the human kingdom from some of its nobility and royalty in order to create new governments favorable to the peace between kyouma and humans. Dozzu estimates that the completion of his plan would bring the death of "only" 50000 humans, which is in his opinion a really minor price to pay in order to achieve his ambition. He seems to have taken several dispositions to achieve the different parts of his plan, but is really secretive about them. Dozzu is manipulative, and doesn't hesitate to do evil deeds if they can bring him closer to his goal. For him, nothing else matter than achieving it, including weird alliances, betrayal, and massacre. As a traitor to the Majin, he and his minions are attacked on sight by the other kyouma.
