Synopsis

Shiki Ryuuhou is a Monster Hunter in a world full of fantastic creatures. Before his master, Gurelli Jescar, met an untimely death, he taught Shiki the most important skill of being a Monster Hunter: teamwork. Several years later, wielding his dual blades, Shiki heads to Akayama Town's Guild to find himself a partner. He takes a liking to the unwilling Irie Jescar, a girl notorious for rejecting any attempt at camaraderie. But her attitude soon changes; when Shiki saves her from a Rathian attack, he reveals that he has the mark of a Forbidden Hunter—meaning he is free to hunt—and that he has only one goal: to fight the legendary Miogaruna. Irie is surprised that Shiki believes in the Miogaruna, as the only other person who believed in its existence was her late father, Gurelli. Motivated by the discovery of their shared connection, Irie and Shiki team up to fulfill Gurelli's lifelong dream. Thus, the two embark on their legendary journey, gaining allies and rivals while hunting monsters in the grand quest to find the Miogaruna. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

This seal allows him access to all hunting grounds. Even after his masters' death, he often talks to his master as if he is talking to his spirit and it is evident that he really cared and respected his master. His dream is to hunt down the legendary Miogaruna. He wields the twin wind swords Sou Kaze Ha / Sou Fuu Jin (Oroshi) which are said to be made from the materials of Miogaruna. Sakuya is the daughter to a blacksmith that crossed paths with Irie's father long ago and just like Irie she too lost her father at a young age. She thought that he had left her and her mother to live in some big city away from their swamp home, but he had been crystalized by a derumaisou that had plagued their home for a long time. Shiki and Irie helped Sakuya kill the derumaisou and afterwards she built Shiki and Irie their new weapons "Arashi" and "Eager Cleaver" and joined them in their quest to find the Miogaruna while also pursuing her father's dream of building the best weapon that could be built.
