About this title

Synopsis

The story takes place in an alternate reality from the rest of the Sailor Moon series, so it does not fit to the main storyline or canon. One of the main reasons it does not fit into the main storyline is because it is stated in the main series that Usagi Tsukino will only have one child (Chibiusa). However, the lead character created especially for this story is Usagi's second child, Kousagi Tsukino. The daughters of the other four Guardian Senshi (all in grade 3 with Kousagi) also are in the story, who look exactly like (and are named after) their mothers (though the Japanese spelling of the names are different). Publication notes

Parallel Sailor Moon was originally released as part of the Materials Collection artbook and was reprinted in 2004 as part of the shinsouban second volume of short stories. The story was published in 1999, in honor of the Chinese year of the rabbit. The series was published in English by Kodansha Comics USA in November 26, 2013 as part of the second volume of short stories.

Rei Jr, also known as Rei Hino, was a character who existed only in the alternate-universe story "Parallel Sailor Moon." In that story, she was Rei Hino's eight-year-old daughter. Rei was very antisocial, and preferred napping to being around the other girls; she felt forced to hang out with the others because her mother was friends with their mothers. Rei and her friends Mina, Ami, and Mako all tolerated Usagi's younger daughter, Kousagi, and attended a cooking class taught by Haruka, Michiru, and Setsuna with her, but ditched her whenever possible. Kousagi is Usagi's second child after Chibiusa. Her name means "second Usagi." She has pink hair in four buns (two on each side of her head) and blue eyes. She's even worse than Usagi, but she's also only in the 3rd grade. None of Usagi's friends' daughters like Kousagi, and they always pick on her. Kousagi is nicknamed "Chibi" by the adults. She actively hates cats. In the parody, she transforms into a Sailor Senshi with bunnies instead of hearts as her symbols. No voice actors have been added to this character. In that story, she was Minako Aino's eight-year-old daughter, who often went on "field trips" with her mother to see celebrities. Her father's name was not revealed, but he worked on a sitcom.
