Synopsis

Enthusiastic former Olympic badminton player Kentarou Tachibana faces a seemingly insurmountable obstacle—the fact that the small Kitakomachi High School badminton team is anything but as dedicated as him to the sport. The club, led primarily by the talented yet moody Nagisa Aragaki, continues to shrink as the players are scared off by Nagisa's grueling drills that push them to their limits and frequently drive team members to tears. One day, however, Coach Tachibana seems to find a ray of hope in the form of Ayano Hanesaki. Ayano has a natural gift for the sport—but she also has nothing but pure hatred for badminton. When Ayano first comes to the club, the source of Nagisa's sullen nature becomes obvious: six months prior, she suffered a devastating loss against Ayano in the National Junior Tournament, failing to score even a single point. Now finding themselves on the same team, the two girls must move past their negative experiences with badminton and come together to write a triumphant chapter for the school's team. Hanesaki Ayano (羽咲綾乃) is the protagonist of Hanebado! and a 1st year member of the Kitakomachi badminton club. Ayano is a short girl with green eyes and long brown hair that she ties together with a handkerchief similar to her mother, though she originally used a hairband. At school, she wears the standard Kitakomachi High uniform with a red ribbon indicating that she is a first year. During practice, she wears a white shirt and dark shorts. In official matches, she wears the current Kitakomachi uniform consisting of a blue one piece with white and black details. Kitakomachi is written at the back in white kanji. (Source: Wiki)

Aragaki Nagisa (荒垣なぎさ) is a 3rd year member of the Kitakomachi badminton club and the former captain of the team. She is a very good player who has trained more than anyone in her discipline. However, this hard work will be destroyed by Hanesaki Ayano (羽咲綾乃), a badminton prodigy who'll beat her flatly during a match one year ago. She is since that, very depressed and asking herself why she plays badminton.
