Synopsis

Kurogane Naoto was a mostly ordinary high schooler who lived a peaceful life with his childhood friend Hayami Haruka. What wasn't ordinary with Naoto is that his right eye is a little special, it possesses a special ability, "Hunter's Eye", that make it possible for Naoto to see other people's Life Force in numerical values. But his ordinary days ended when he met a girl with such high Life Force that she couldn't possibly be human. The girl introduced herself as Raquel Alucard, a vampire. She ordered him to get the hold of the Azure. And so Naoto was dragged into a bloody battle surrounding the Azure.

Naoto Kurogane is the main protagonist of the BlazBlue: Bloodedge Experience series. He is gifted with the Hunter's Eye and is the servant of Raquel Alucard. His life-force value hovered around 9,810 until he became Raquel's servant. He became a playable character in Blazblue: Central Fiction. Naoto was a fairly average student in all respects at Shin Kawahama First High School. He lives on his own in an apartment in the same building as his cousin Haruka Hayami that was lent out by his aunt, Yuki Hayami, for practically free due to their relation. He attends school with Haruka and Shinnosuke Fukuda. What sets Naoto apart from the average person however, is the fact that he possesses the Hunter's Eye, an ability which allows him to see the numerical value of a persons life force. He first knew that the value he saw of a person was their life-force when he watched his mother die as her life-force value turned to 0. As well as his unique ability, Naoto is also the heir to the Terumi Clan, which was wiped out by his sister, Saya Terumi; instead of using the name Naoto Terumi, he chose his mother's name, Kurogane. Her life-force value hovers around 80,000,000. She is shown to be headstrong and confident in her abilities as a combatant. When Naoto’s arm gets severed, however, she does not think much of it, only saying how she was just “careless”. She has a complicated relationship with her father, only ever referring to him as 'that man', Naoto noted that the two do not treat each other like father and daughter. Physically, Raquel is extremely similar to Rachel Alucard, something that Naoto picks up on. Despite this, Raquel has the appearance of a young woman around the age of 16 and looks considerably older than the 12-year-old looking Rachel.
