Synopsis
In the 14th year of the Tianbao Era (CE 755) An Lushan, a military governor with ties to the Order of the Ancients, leads his elite corps to rebel against the Tang Dynasty, and the ill-prepared Tang empire falters under the threat. The two capitals Luoyang and Chang’an fall and China falls under the oppression of the cruel An Lushan. As the Tang dynasty starts to crumble, Li E, a shady Assassin trained by the Hidden Ones in the far West, teams up with Tang loyalists to turn the tide and save both the dynasty and the country from this crisis. Cike Xintiao: Wangchao began as a web comic and was later published in book format by CITIC Press Group (中信出版社) since July 2021. The series was published digitally in English as Assassin's Creed Dynasty by Tokyopop from October 29, 2021 to February 21, 2023, and in print since January 11, 2022 to March 21, 2023. It was published in French by Mana Books from April 1, 2021 to April 6, 2023.

Originally a foot soldier in the Tang army, he joined a group of Central Asian Hidden Ones in 751 after they rescued him in the aftermath of the Battle of Talas.
