About this title
Synopsis
"The Pretty Guardian in a Sailor Suit! Sailor Venus has arrived!" Thirteen-year-old Minako Aino is an active tomboy who loves idols and video games, and is a popular member of Shiba Koen Junior High School's volleyball team. One day during her PE class, Minako accidentally stumbles upon a white cat, who later sidetracks her from talking to her crush. At home, Minako wonders if she is beautiful, and hearing this, the cat introduces himself as Artemis and gives her a compact mirror that shows Minako more than just her beauty. Before she can fully take in the cat's words, Minako receives a special pen that can transform her into the masked champion of justice, Sailor V! As her carefree love-seeking days begin to include adventures against the energy-seeking Dark Agency, Minako will learn to embrace the full extent of her destiny. [Written by MAL Rewrite]
Publication notes
Code Name wa Sailor V was serialized in the RunRun magazine as the Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon manga ran in Nakayoshi, with a much slower release rate than the latter. The series was published in English by Kodansha Comics USA from September 13, 2011, to November 15, 2011, along with the republishing of the Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon manga. It was also released in Brazilian Portuguese by Editora JBC from August 2015 to October 2015. Code Name wa Sailor V had an OVA adaptation planned, but it never happened; the Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon anime was created instead.

Minako is the fourth member of the Sailor Team to be discovered by Sailor Moon, and serves as the leader of the Guardian Senshi who protect her. She uses love-related powers. In the manga and anime series she dreams of becoming a famous idol, whereas in the live-action series her character is refactored to already be a celebrity. Silly or serious, Minako consistently displays great confidence, enthusiasm, and leadership skill. She is the "owner" of Artemis, the white guardian cat who introduced her to her life as a Senshi. He lives in her home (as Luna lives in Usagi's) and is one of her closest friends.
Artemis118 fan favoritesExternal profileArtemis is the companion to the leader of the Guardian Senshi—he trained Minako Aino as Sailor V, and remains by her side when she takes on her proper role as Sailor Venus. His memory of the Silver Millennium seems to be more intact than Luna's—in fact, before appearing in the Sailor Moon series he guides her through the Sailor V video game at the arcade. Later, he fills in the details of her true mission. Artemis is more easy going than Luna, and has a "big brother" relationship with Minako, although his attraction to her is sometimes implied. He also cares very deeply about Luna, often comforting her when she is distressed and stating his admiration of her. In addition, he is a good father to Diana as evidenced by her affection for him. Artemis has green eyes in the manga and live-action series, but blue eyes in the anime. Artemis does not seem to mind the fact that he is named after a female goddess, even when teased about it by Minako. In the European Portuguese and the Hungarian version Artemis is a female cat. Saijou Ace3 fan favoritesExternal profileKaitou Ace was a love interest of Minako's in Codename: Sailor V. He was an idol who appeared after an evil plot to make girls gain weight. He helped the girls of Tokyo to lose weight, had his own TV show, and fights alongside Sailor V (like Tuxedo Mask would later help Sailor Moon). It is later revealed that he is Danburite, who serves under the Shitennou. In the Silver Millennium, he was Adonis, a lowly foot-soldier posted to Venus. He saw Princess Venus and fell in love with her, but his love was hopeless. He was talented at giving "Love Readings" involving playing cards, predominately the Aces of the four suits.
