About this title

Synopsis

This world has gone through many Dusks, and is slowly nearing its end. Within this world, in the western reaches of the "Land of Dusk," there was a nation that prospered thanks to its use of alchemy. There, in order to survive the eventual arrival of the "Dusk End," the people devoted their efforts to rediscover and recreate lost alchemic technologies. Rediscovered technology from the past era was gathered in the alchemy research city known as "Central," where research was conducted on how to halt the advance of the twilight. One of the heroes is a young man who researched alchemy in Central, the other a girl living in a small town on the frontier. This girl's name is Escha. In the process of using her knowledge of ancient alchemy to help others, she was assigned to the Development Department. The young man's name is Logy. Having learned the newest alchemic techniques in Central, he requested a transfer to this understaffed town to make use of his abilities, and meets Escha when he is assigned to the Development Department as well. Age: 15 Height: 158 cm Blood Type: O Escha Malier is a young girl living in the small remote town Corseit, and has now become a new official of the development team of the Corseit's branch of the Unentered Area Special Investigation Bureau. Prior to becoming an government official, she helped with alchemy work. She was officially assigned to the team at the same time as Logix "Logy" Fiscario, and the two will work together. She is often quite quirky and cheerful, and often show her feelings very clearly. She is full of energy and is also a very curious person. She is sometimes a little shy, though, and might not always think through her actions properly. She is very hardworking, and became a part of the development project because she wanted to help others by using her own knowledge about older alchemy. She loves sweets, especially apple tart. Her family have since long been apple farmers and are managing the area around what appears to be the oldest tree of the apple orchard. Her mother Miria passed away when she was young, and her mother's close friend Clone has a motherly role to her. To go to The Unexplored Ruin has been her dream since she was younger. Her mother used to read her many folklores, and many of them were about The Unexplored Ruin. Therefore, she feel like the ruin is important to her. Her "tail" is an accessory made by her mother. Age: 18 Height: 173 cm Blood Type: A Logix is an alchemist and new government official working for the development team of the Corseit Branch. He was officially assigned to the team at the same time as Escha Malier, and the two will work together. Logy is a serious and "down-to-earth" person, but is also kind. He has a burn scar on one of his arms, and he seems to avoid talking about his past. He makes free use of the latest style of a "alchemic sword", an improved version of an artifact that was excavated from the ruins that combines the art of swordplay and alchemy.
