About this title

Synopsis

Childhood friends Chrono and Lucca join the townsfolk of Truce gathering in Leene Square to attend the Millennial Fair: a festival held once every thousand years in remembrance of the Kingdom of Guardia's establishment. While the katana-wielding Chrono simply wishes to enjoy the festivities, Lucca decides to seize the opportunity to show off her latest device. Recalling Lucca trying to hide it from him the day before, Chrono starts searching for her invention. Along the way, he runs into Marl—an iron-willed girl armed with a crossbow—an encounter that may mark the start of an adventure across time itself. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Crono (Chrono in Japanese) is the main character of Chrono Trigger. He is an exceptionally gifted fighter and is characterized by his spiky red hair, calm blue eyes and light blue tunic. Crono was born on 983 A.D. in the city of Truce. 17 years after his birth, on 1000 A.D. the Millennial Fair was held celebrating the prosperity of the Kingdom of Guardia which had been founded 1000 years ago. At the Millennial Fair, Crono met Marle (his future love interest) and the two decided to go and see the festival together. However, at one of the festival attractions, an unknown time gate was created and sucked Marle into it. Chrono, determined to rescue Marle, jumped into the time gate to try and rescue Marle. This marked the beginning of his journey across time and space where he slowly uncovered the truth about the appearance of time gates and their connection to Lavos, an entity that was destined to destroy almost all civilization on earth.
