About this title

Synopsis

Sana Kurata, a child actress, faces many problems in her classroom, including a major one - her bullying classmate, Akito Hayama. Sana's outgoing and friendly nature leads her to work towards correcting all of the problems around her. Her 'meddling' irritates Hayama but at the same time captivates him, just as Hayama's gloomy nature irritates Sana and compels her to change him. Sana is a natural born leader who is very curious, stubborn, and loves to help others out with their problems. She's always cheerful, talkative, and full of spunk. Her family is made up of mother Misako Kurata, who is a famous author, and a man named Rei that she took in and made her manager. At school, she becomes enemies with a boy named Akito Hayama, who grouped up some of the boys to cause chaos in the classroom. She tries to find ways to beat Akito so that the boys stop interrupting the lessons, but that soon fails and they quickly become friends as Sana learns more about Akito's past.

Tsuyoshi is Akito's best friend. The two are an odd combination because Tsuyoshi is very cheerful, honest and nice, which is exactly the opposite of how everyone perceives Akito, and Tsuyoshi hardly ever participates in the antics of Akito's henchmen. However, much like Akito, Tsuyoshi has a tough family situation, as his parents are divorcing. Instead of dealing with his problems like Akito, he becomes kinder for the sake of others. Because of his ability to be strong and kind in bad situations, Tsuyoshi can sense that there is good within Akito and tries to convince others of what he sees, and tries to convince Sana that Akito isn't a bad guy, he's just misunderstood. Don't mistake Tsuyoshi for all happiness and sunshine though, for if one makes a disparaging remark about his family, especially, his mother, he produces an explosive temper that cannot be quelled. Fuuka moves back to Tokyo from Osaka when Sana and Hayama start junior high school. When she and Sana meet (in the school bathroom, of course), they realize they're very similar in both looks and personality. Fuuka is very honest and possesses a strong will and a good heart. Like Sana, she tends to get hyper when she's angry, worried, or excited, but Fuuka is definitely calmer and more serious than Sana. She is also a very good student and great at gymnastics, which means she's very driven and dedicated. While Fuuka has a good heart, she's a lot less innocent and soft-hearted than Sana, so sometimes she seems a bit colder. Fuuka isn't as prone to thinking with her heart alone, and she considers how her actions will affect her. But Fuuka is a very good person and she takes good care of her friends.
