Synopsis

In the Kingdom of Romelidahl, omegas—individuals with a secondary sex that causes them to emit enticing pheromones and become pregnant regardless of their primary sex—hold the lowest status in society and are often sold into slavery. As the 13th son of the royal family, Ilya is spared this fate, instead being married off to the neighboring Kingdom of Hanu for political gains. Though he assumes that he will be one of many partners used for the king's pleasure, he is surprised to learn that in Hanu, omegas are thought to be messengers from the god Ratati. Moreover, Khalid, the king, is only 10 years old. Ilya is unprepared to enjoy such a peaceful life, but Khalid slowly proves himself to be a wise ruler and a caring companion. Ilya is the thirteenth prince of the royal family of Romeridall, a snowy country. Having been born as an omega, he was shunned by the rest of his alpha family, and his own mother committed suicide out of shame. It was decided that he would be married off for political reasons, and is sent to the King of Hanu in order to alleviate Romeridall's debt. Uppon arrival, Ilya is surprised to be highly regarded in Hanu, where omegas are considered messengers of god. He initially dismisses Khalid as an ignorant child, but soon loosens up around him enough to begin bantering and using sarcasm. He becomes very attached to Tharju, a tiger cub that Khalid gives to him as a sign of affection. As he gets used to Hanu, Ilya becomes more confident and active in his role as queen. Khalid is the King of Hanu, a country located in the desert where the king is considered the incarnation of god. He is loved by his people and dedicated to serving them well. Having been raised in a country where omegas are highly regarded, Khalid doesn't look down on Ilya and even encourages him to pursue activities he likes, that would've been forbidden to him in Romeridall. Khalid is the youngest of the three princes, having ascended the throne at only 10 years old. In spite of his age, he is very knowledgeable about the goings-on of the palace, although Ilya still comments that he isn't ruthless enough to be a king, and he still has an immature and shy side that comes out only around Ilya.
