Synopsis

Koukou Debut was published in English as High School Debut by VIZ Media under the Shojo Beat imprint in 13 volumes between January 31, 2008 and February 2, 2010; and again in 5 3-in-1 editions between February 4, 2014 and February 3, 2015. The series was also adapted into a drama CD; a novel written by Kuramoto Yuu; and a Japanese live-action film adaptation in 2011. The manga was a best-selling series during its publication in Japan and was well-received by critics in North America.

Birthday: May 5 Shortly after entering high school, Haruna becomes determined to find a boyfriend under the influence of all the shoujo manga she reads. She accidentally meets Yoh after a failed attempt at being "picked up" by guys and asks him to coach her on how to be more attractive. After some prodding, Yoh finally accepts to teach her under two conditions; one: she mustn’t cry, and two: she cannot fall in love with him. She eagerly accepts, and the two start training. Yoh helps her on a day to day basis, giving her advice on what to wear every day and how to act around guys. Haruna is a tomboy and star athlete.
