Synopsis

Both volumes are a collection of seven short stories each, revolving around an all-girl's school. The first, fifth, sixth, and seventh chapter from the first volume and the first five chapters of the second volume feature the same protagonists. She used to be popular with both the boys and girls in middle school, however, she only paid any attention to her best friend Kobayashi Nana. Hitomi had fallen in love with Nana who she has known for many years, and kisses her during middle school. Nana rejects her and pretends as though it never happened, leaving Hitomi crushed. Hitomi is on the girls' basketball team and is a gifted player. She also dabbles in baking in which she is fairly skilled. She has good repertoire with her teammates and classmates, but nobody else matters to her but Nana. She is later shocked to learn that Nana returns her feelings, and they begin dating. Hitomi is much more conflicted than she lets on. She often worries that someday Nana will return to just being her friend. She is an average student whose work tends to be a reflection of her emotions. Her closest companion in school is Abe Narumi. Nana is earnest, emotional and insecure. She has low self-confidence, and is sometimes concerned about her looks. It is revealed that she is in love with Hitomi and confesses her love to her after having a long separation. Nana knew that Hitomi was in also love with her but pretended that she didn't know so that they could remain best friends instead.
