Synopsis
In this grim and realistic take on classic fairy tales, Prince Ludwig, a female corpse collector, is ordered by his father to find himself a wife more suitable than the women he often brings into the castle. Ludwig is the prince of some unnamed kingdom. He's a total brat, selfish, narcissistic and a skirt-chaser. Whenever he's on the streets there are cries of "Hide the women!". He has a fondness for well-endowed beauties, and chooses his potential brides judging mostly by their bust size. He bears an uncanny resemblance to his mother, queen Amalberga. He is named after Jakob Ludwig Grimm. He is a mere 19 years old, and his nickname is Lui. One day Lui's father, the king, decides that he is fed up with Lui's behavior. No, it's not that he's a pervert, but his rather odd hobby; Lui is into necrophilia and has a whole chamber where he keeps his collection of female corpses. The king warns Lui that if he keeps up this behavior he won’t give him the crown. Thus, Lui is forced to go on a disciplinary trip to find a princess to marry. After not being invited to the celebration of her birth she burst in during the celebration and placed a curse on Idike. Many years later she pops up around the castle and warns people to not get too close to it. Apparently her curse turned out to be more evil than she expected and she had not planned for it to be such a big deal. She turns out to be a masochist because she falls in love with Lui after he ties her up and beats her with a whip. Dorothea is probably well over a hundred years old, which Lui would rather not think about. She is currently traveling together with him and Wilhelm. Lisette10 fan favoritesExternal profile"Little Red Riding Hood" of the series. Lisette is a childhood friend of Wilhelm. She always wanted a red-colored hood, but her family could only afford a grey one. Lisette did not like Ludwig at all and felt that he would always hog Wilhelm from her. She wanted Wilhelm all to herself. Ludwig happens to overhear her talking to herself in the forest and decides to play a trick on her. Lisette's mother sends tells her to take wine and cake to her grandmother’s house. Beforehand Ludwig switched the road signs so Lisette winds up in an old, burned house instead of her grandmother's house. The house was actually owned by a woman with no family but was killed when her house and set on fire by Hansel and Gretel. Lisette really does think that it is her grandmother's house and is horrified when she finds a corpse inside. Ludwig disguises himself as a wolf demon and tells Lisette that just like her grandmother she was sent as a sacrifice by her parents, in exchange they would get a pile of gold. She runs home to see if this really is true. Meanwhile, her parents are waiting for her back home. They’ve prepared a special dinner and were surprised when they found a pile of gold outside their cottage. Lisette comes home and brutally murders her parents with an ax, believing what the wolf demon said to her. Wilhelm hears screams and rushes to the cottage. Inside he finds Lisette covered in blood and her dead parents beside her. She goes crazy and goes for Wilhelm but Ludwig saves him. After that Lisette disappears never to be seen again. In the end she did, however, get the red hood she wished for even if it was dyed with fresh blood. Several years later we see Lisette again. She's now known as "Little Red Riding Hood". She’s become an assassin and a wanted criminal. This time she's after Prince Ludwig and won‘t rest until he‘s dead. She despises Ludwig ever since the incident and blames him for the fact that she now enjoys killing. No voice actors have been added to this character. Wilhelm3 fan favoritesExternal profileWilhelm is Prince Ludwig's servant. He has known Ludwig since they were children. Being Ludwig's servant, Wilhelm has to be able to tolerate certain things from the prince. Such as being forced to carry heavy luggage, dragged along for sudden trips and randomly being held at gunpoint. It can be said that his patience and meekness keeps him with his master.He fills the role of the most prominent comic relief of the manga. Honest and soft-hearted Wilhelm is too nice for his own good. As a child, Wilhelm wanted to be a knight but was too gentle. The adults around him would make it so that he would be stuck doing all the hard work. Ludwig took advantage of his kind heart and make Wilhelm a servant, partly to prevent others from ordering him around. Wilhelm is the prince's only friend and the only one who understands his lonely life. He was named after Wilhelm Karl Grimm. This is, however, a mere hoax plotted by his "mother" Petronella, a witch craving for the title of queen. Mistaking Amalberga for Ludwig, he bears an extreme hatred towards him for most of the series, but it is actually revealed that he fell madly in love with him some times prior to the beginning of the story. However, Aschen has learned to turn this behavior into something positive, and sees her sisters' jabs as them paying attention to her. One day while playing in a field, Aschen is surprised by prince Balduin. He calls out to her, but Aschen runs away before he can say anything else. Since then, she's harbored a secret crush on him, and is ecstatic when the prince announces a ball at the palace to help him find the girl from that day.
