About this title

Synopsis

Adell is the lone human being in a world of humans-turned-demons, made by Overlord Zenon. It's Adell's task—and burden—to defeat Zenon and restore his friends and family to their normal selves. But summoning an Overlord is not easy. When Adell tries to call Zenon, he ends up with his daughter, Rozalin. Now, bound by contract, Adell promises to take Rozalin back to her father. Etna was the King Krichevskoy's vassal before his death. Etna follows Laharl and Flonne before attempting to usurp the destined throne to Laharl, but then behind promise to become the skillful arm of the King. Money-hungry and despotic with her servants, the Prinnies, she uses a large hammer to hit them and her enemies.

Two years after the death of his father, King Krichevskoy, Laharl was awakened with the ambition to become the next Overlord of the Netherworld. Laharl is an extremely self-centered individual, and insists that he is evil with great fervor, but he occasionally fails to hide his compassion, invariably leading to much teasing on the part of his vassals, Etna in particular. Laharl is very insecure with his emotions, and believes that they are signs of a weakness that Demons should not have. As such, he always responds to his vassal's taunts with adamant refusal of any kindness in his heart, usually accompanied by a rather unneeded show of force. Despite his rather slim frame, Laharl possesses immense physical strength, as well as powerful magic, and often displays his power in excess to enforce his authority over his vassals. He is ruthless in battle, and thinks nothing of the life of his opponent until they are at his mercy. He also has an irrational fear of statuesque women.

Flonne is an angel trainee and strong believer of love who is sent to the Netherworld to assassinate King Krichevskoy, only to find out that he is already deceased. When she learns of Laharl's refusal to believe in love, she becomes Laharl's follower in order to find good in him. She is very naive and can go on the same topic for a while. She worries about everyone, but doesn't seem too hesitant to take down a necessary opponent.

The only daughter of Overlord Zenon. Rozalin was summoned during a failed attempt by Adell's mother to summon Zenon. Due to the summoning contract placed on her, she is unable to leave Adell and must help him find Zenon. Incredibly snobby, Rozalin is unaware of the world around her due to her pampered life, with her books being her sole source of information. Because of this, she has no battle experience and tries (and fails) to get Adell killed indirectly on several occasions. The main character of Disgaea 2.Adell is the only human left on Veldime, and has been training for years to defeat Zenon and lift the curse. Courageous and determined, Adell dislikes women, demons and lies, and will never back down from any challenge or resort to dirty tactics as it is not his style. His love for challenging fights is taken to the extreme at times, earning him the name battle maniac from Rozalin. Tink is the childhood friend of Rozalin, Overlord Zenon's only daughter, as well as her servant. He is a demon with two personalities, respectable and perverted, represented by the colors blue and red respectively. During the siege on one of Zenon's castles, Tink was turned into a frog by a then unknown foe. Shortly after, he joins Rozalin and Adell once they explore the place's ruins.
