About this title

Synopsis

Valvatorez is a vampire who's sworn off drinking blood due to a promise he'd made in the past. The once great Tyrant is now a Prinny instructor in charge of reforming Prinnies into obeying their orders as instructed, who takes great pride in his work. Fuka Kazamatsuri is a girl from Earth who's died and is sent to hell as a Prinny in order to atone for her sins. However, instead of being completely turned into a Prinny, she kept her original appearance and was only given a Prinny hat and jacket. She believes everything happening around her is all just a part of a dream she's having. This is what started the adventures and encounters that lead Valvatorez into trying to show Fuka the reality before her and revealing the importance of the promise he made many years ago.

Valvatorez has a strong sense of pride and dignity, and considers keeping his promises as his utmost concern. Fuka Kazamatsuri is a middle schooler who was killed and was meant to turn into a Prinny, but was simply given a hat and a jacket due to the lack of Prinny hides. She insists that everything that is happening is just a dream and thus nothing she encounters is real. Her denial enables her to use much more latent power than other humans can do consciously, allowing her to fight on par with demons. Fenrich is Valvatorez's ever-loyal servant. He is willing to put his master's will and well-being above all else, even his own life. He constantly praises his master and dismisses any of Valvatorez's quirks as one of his "formidable powers." His attitude toward others, however, can range from disrespectful to rude to outright threatening, especially if they themselves are disrespectful towards Valvatorez. Despite how he occasionally refers to Valvatorez as "Lord Val", he dislikes any nicknames that others give either his master or himself that isn't out of respect, such as Fuka calling Valvatorez "Valzy" or himself "Fenfen" (although he strangely makes no remarks on Artina calling him "Mr. Vampire" or "Mr. Weirdo"), and becomes very irritated or uncomfortable if he is personally called a "tsundere." Fenrich has also repeatedly shown a cunning and manipulative side to him and will use whatever means necessary to achieve a objective, even to the point of manipulating his own master. Desco has a dream of becoming a final boss. She is usually very upbeat and excitable. Desco is also known for talking in the third person and is very naive. She is greatly attached to Fuka, and always thinks of her as her Big Sis, and calls her as such. Desco likes to make note of characteristics and traits that are final boss-like, and hopes to emulate those traits in the future, and always looks to get stronger, all for her Big sister's sake. She, along with Fuka, strikes a friendship with Vulcanus, often forming a gossip circle with them talking about Valvatorez and Fenrich's relationship. Vulcanus is a kind-hearted person who often cares for other people and displays greediness when it comes to money. She and Valvatorez tend to argue alot, especially about money. Fenrich also often shows strong dislike towards Vulcanus, always calling her "thief angel". As a human nurse, Artina was pure-hearted, treating anyone regardless of whether they were friend or foe. She had no regrets for her actions and she held complete faith in her beliefs on treating her enemies. As an angel, Vulcanus is seen at first as a greedy angel who did not care for others and only showed interest and dedication to money. This was made evident when she stole money from the Information Bureau in order to collect funds for Celestia, as well as her eagerness and having no qualms about leeching money off of those who needed it more. During the course of the story, however, she displays her kindness and caring for others, such as curing Fuka, Desco, Emizel and Fenrich of the A-Virus with her blood despite it being against Celestian Law. She also forms a friendship and gossip triangle with Fuka and Desco, often working with them to find out the secret between Valvatorez and Fenrich and even helping them collect money from the Mint. Artina has displayed feelings of affection towards Valvatorez, although she is not willing to admit it. She also displays a great amount of respect for Archangel Flonne, believing in her ideals and collecting money so that they could save the world. Prior to joining Valvatorez, Emizel was an egotistical boy who rode on his father's coattails, using Hugo's title in his own defense, and often rap in his dialect. Relying on his identity as the president's son, he thought he deserved to be respected and obeyed. However, at one point he finally realized and admitted that he was indeed a weak and powerless demon "a complete failure". As Death, he has not taken one soul prior to reforming himself as he has lacked confidence and the will to reap souls. After this event, Emizel starts to work hard to change himself, to earn respect by his own power and not his father's, to become a proud and noble demon. He still shows respect for his father and when fighting him inside the Blight House, he claims he only wants to prove himself to his father. Emizel shows a fear towards women, thinking of Fuka, Desco and Vulcanus as scary when they are in their gossip circles and even vows to the moon not to get married.
