Synopsis

In a world where humans and demons coexist, Demon Lord Tasogare holds the human empire's princess, Aurora Suya Rhys Kaymin, hostage. He demands humans to give him absolute rule on the world, but humanity refuses to concede without a fight and sends Yuusha Akatsuki to save the captive. Meanwhile, although unharmed, Suya Rhys spends her time locked up in the demon castle, often feeling lethargic. Even so, she has trouble sleeping due to poor hospitality. The princess then begins her amusing adventures as she tries to make herself comfortable and finally get some sleep. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Kidnapped by the Demon King, she spends her days waiting for the heroes to rescue her. At least, that's how it was supposed to be... Soon after being taken as a hostage, Suya makes the most out of her situation by pilfering different objects to make her life easier (at the expense of the demons' peace of mind). Initially acting quite selfishly, the longer her stay at the Demon Castle extends, the more Suya finds herself caring about its citizens and taking more interest in the political relations between the human and demon kingdoms. Although others tend to see and treat her as a child, Suya is actually an adult. Despite her tendency to laze around, she is very meticulous, efficient and focused when it comes to doing her work as a royal princess, and it is implied that she seldom got time to rest while living in the human kingdom. As evidenced by the various objects she builds herself, Suya is also quite handy and resourceful.

He proclaims that he has obtained all the power necessary to permanently separate demonkind from humans, but what he's most concerned with is managing flags and balancing out fights. Due to this, he is constantly baffled by the Princess going against the "rules" of their world and the behavior of a normal hostage; he is also quite shy when it comes to the Princess, as he hasn't interacted with humans much.
