Ham Dan-I is the main character of My Life as an Internet Novel. On the first day of her middle school life, she finds herself in the world of a web novel, where she is the plain childhood best friend and neighbor of beautiful Ban Yeo-Ryeong. Despite her persisting disbelief, she follows Yeo-Ryeong to Ji Jon Middle School, where she meets the Four Heavenly Kings of Ji Jon. Over time, she becomes actual friends with Ban Yeo-Ryeong and the Four Heavenly Kings. Dan-I is somewhat dense, mostly due to her strong belief that she is plain and uninteresting, especially in comparison to her more beautiful and accomplished friends. She is a strong and compassionate person, but often struggles with feelings of jealousy, fear and anxiety, because of her belief that she is lesser than and undeserving of her friends. She is also anxious about the fact that she doesn't belong in the world of the web novel that she now exists in. Eun Ji-Ho is one of the Four Heavenly Kings of Ji Jon Middle School. He is the stuck-up rich guy archetype. Dan-I believes that he might be the male lead of the web novel world she's in. Ji-Ho is the chaebol of Haneul Group. He has always gone to school in a limousine, since elementary, so he is slightly sheltered. He is rich and owns a five-star hotel called Juno Hotel. He is also incredibly smart and often places first in school, when he isn't losing first place to Yeo-Ryeong or Cheon-Yeong. Although Ji-Ho acts elegant and refined, in reality he can be rude and condescending. With his friends, his facade falls away and he becomes more casual. He swears, makes fun of and teases his friends, and has a sarcastic sense of humor. However, Ji-Ho is also perceptive and respectful as a person and friend. He respects people's boundaries and watches over those he cares for from a distance. He is rational-minded and calm. Thus, he is not given to impulsive decisions, but sometimes makes emotionally-charged decisions when he is frustrated. Alternate Spelling: Chun-Young Cheon-Yeong is a chaebol of Baelhae Group. He is a magazine model under the name Yoochun. He works for his uncle who is a famous photographer. Because of his looks, he often starts trending on the internet after a publication. He is the first of the four that Dan-I meets, and also the first of the four that she naturally befriends. Cheon-Yeong acts distant with everyone, which is why he is nicknamed Ice Prince by the school population. But he has a warm heart and is very caring. He is known for his thoughtless honesty and is good at breaking awkwardness with his bluntness. This also means he regards dishonesty or hiding one's feelings (like Dan-I does) as untrustworthy and dis-likable traits. He likes rock music like Linkin Park and chocolate milk. But with Dan-I and other girls she likes, she is friendly, bright and affectionate. She is quick to anger, particularly if Dan-I is being insulted or hurt, she goes into instant-rage mode. However, she is also very loyal and caring to her friends (including her male friends) and is openhearted. He is a model student, well-loved by teachers and students. When Eun-Hyeong was five years old, his mother and Yoo Cheon-Yeong's mother got into a car accident on a rainy day. Cheon-Yeong's mother was driving and was unharmed, but the garbage truck that hit them demolished the passenger seat where Eun-Hyeong's mother was. This incident gave him trauma and created an intense dislike for rainy days. His father works for Cheon-Yeong's father's company as a reporter. Eun-Hyeong is self-sufficient and independent, having taken care of himself from a young age. He is friendly and polite with strangers. He has a kindly and supportive personality; he is basically the "mom friend" of the group and takes care of everyone. But he does not shy away from confrontation. He can easily demand apologies and respect from bullies, or beat up thugs. He is very protective of his friends. He is also highly skilled in martial arts.
