Synopsis

In the near future where hip-hop culture has grown saturated, a phenomenon known as Phantom Lives has entered the scene. Using accessories made from a material called Phantom Metal, rappers create beautiful illusions of their lyrics from their own DNA and emotions. However, this activates so-called Trap Responses that force them to relive their past traumas. A decade ago, the legendary Club Paradox, run by the rapper duo BURAIKAN, dominated the scene but then suddenly vanished. Now, as Club Paradox's social media channels unexpectedly return to life, four up-and-coming hip-hop groups receive an invitation to Paradox Live, a Phantom Live tournament. The welcomed groups—BAE, The Cat's Whiskers, cozmez, and Akanyatsura—will compete for a shot at winning 10 billion yen and the chance to go up against BURAIKAN, which nearly promises stardom. Though suspicious of the invitations, each group has its reasons for accepting. But with the dangers of overusing their Phantom Metal ever-present, the rappers must decide just how far they are willing to go for glory. [Written by MAL Rewrite]
