About this title

Synopsis

Momo is a shinigami (a Grim Reaper), the messenger of death. Unlike the scary dark cloaked man holding a sickle, she is draped in gleaming white—her gown, sickle, hair and all. Accompanied by a black cat named Daniel, Momo takes up a mission to convey human souls to the Great Beyond. Momo is a Shinigami, a God of Death. She even has a license—#A-100100—and the Reaper's trademark, a scythe. Nonetheless she dresses completely in white, and has a very gentle and caring personality. Because of this she does not just stop at fulfilling her duty to carry away souls, but instead tries to enable all of her "clients" to live their life to the fullest, or at least go to heaven without regrets. Therefore she tends to meddle in the affairs of the living, sometimes subtle, sometimes less so.

Accompanying Momo is a talking black cat familiar named Daniel, with a bell around his neck and bat-like wings who helps Momo out. The living frequently hear the ringing of Daniel's bell when Momo and Daniel are nearby. Daniel has a calm character and does not show as much sympathy to humans as Momo, but is still patient with them. In the TV drama, Daniel is portrayed as a young boy rather than a cat.
