Ryu is one of the main characters from Capcom's Street Fighter series (and is also one of Capcom's mascot characters) and is the archetypical fighting game protagonist. Ryu has appeared in every Street Fighter game and vs/crossover games produced in part with Capcom. Ryu is the essential wandering warrior type character, living only for the fight, not caring about winning or losing but a chance to fight and learn, caring mostly for improving himself both spiritually and physically. His Background Story varies from anime to anime, but has always remained constant in the game series. The core of his background story is always this: Ryu is an orphaned child taken in by Anasatsuken master Gouken and trained along with his future best friend Ken Masters. Gouken is killed by Akuma (Gouki in Japanese versions), Ryu seeks revenge on Akuma while fighting in various tournaments in the meanwhile. Canon wise the only Street Fighter tournament Ryu won was the original, defeating the Champion Sagat. Ryu has also created an arsenal of special attacks which are standards today including, Hadouken, Shoryuken (Rising Dragon Punch), and Tatsumaki Senpuu Kyaku (Hurricane Kick).

Chun-Li is a video game character created by Capcom. She is part of the Street Fighter series, and is the first female playable character to appear in a mainstream fighting game. Introduced in Street Fighter II, Chun-Li was the only female character in the game, and while not as physically powerful as the other characters, she was by far the quickest. Her most famous attack is the Hyakuretsukyaku (Hundred Rending Leg, commonly known as the Lightning Kick), where she repeatedly kicks her opponent from a tilted standing position with incredible speed. Ryu's best friend and the only son of the extremely rich Masters family. He lives in San Francisco with his parents in a very large mansion (it takes 20 minutes to drive from the front yard to the main house). He too spends a lot of time training as well, but not as much as Ryu. Ken also rides a motorcycle. His mother is Japanese. Ken also learns to use the power of Hadou later on while being held captive by Shadowlaw. Only Ryu knows the Hadoken, while both he and Ken know the Shoryuken. Ken later upgrades the Shoryuken to the Hadou Shoryuken, and then shortens it to the Hadou Shoryu. Interestingly, in the English dub Ken still called the move Shoryuken while Ryu called it by its English translation; Rising Dragon Punch. (Source: Wikipedia)

Shadaloo Cammy's early history is unknown; her first appearance in the Street Fighter chronology was Street Fighter Alpha 3, where she was a soulless Doll sent to assassinate Dhalsim. Dhalsim used his spiritual powers to make her self-aware, and she realized that Shadaloo was controlling her. M. Bison sent Vega to observe her. When Vega confronted her, he revealed to her that she was an "experiment" and was no longer needed. Vega intentionally lost a battle to her, and she wondered why Shadaloo wanted to destroy her, since she had never committed any altercations against them. She later encountered Juli and Juni, two other Shadaloo Dolls, who lacked the benefit of self-awareness. When Cammy confronted Bison, he told her that she was meant to become his next body, after his current physical manifestation was destroyed by his own Psycho Power. Cammy managed to break the twelve Dolls free from Shadaloo's mind control, and they confronted Bison together. He explained to Cammy that she was a clone of himself who possessed a small portion of his Psycho Power, and that if he were to die, she would die as well. Cammy fought against his psychic probing and rescued the Dolls from Bison's control with the Psycho Drive. Cammy got the Dolls out the Shadaloo base and then fell unconscious, no longer a clone, but an independent human. Vega rescued her before the base was destroyed, not wanting to allow a beautiful human to die. He deposited her on the doorstep of the British paramilitary government organization Delta Red. Delta Red Cammy awoke with amnesia, and Delta Red took her in. While she could not remember her past, she retained nearly all the fighting capabilities that she was imbued with during her tenure with Shadaloo. This made her a very valuable asset to the team. When the second World Warrior tournament was announced, and that Bison was part of it, Cammy felt a strange connection to him, and entered the tournament to find out. She confronted Bison, who told her that she is a copy of him, that she killed for him, that he planted her in Delta Red (but didn't count on her losing her memories), and that he had no further use for her. After Bison was defeated, her Delta Red teammates told her that she didn't need to live in the past; she had a new life to live. It is believed that Cammy still works for Delta Red, as she appeared in Final Fight: Streetwise as a pit fighter. (Source: Wikipedia)

Vega (Balrog in the Japanese version), is one of the bosses of the Street Fighter fighting game series. Vega uses his own fighting style of which is a blend of Ninjutsu and Bullfighting. Vega was born to a noble family in Catalonia, Spain. As he matured, Vega studied Bullfighting, a cultural tradition amongst the nobles. Afterward, he went to Japan and learned Ninjutsu, a style he believed meshed well with his natural grace and agility. Returning home, Vega combined Bullfighting with Ninjutsu and went into an underground cage fighting circuit where quickly became one of the best. Tragedy struck one day when Vega witnessed the murder of his beautiful mother at the hands of his unattractive father. Her murder was punishment for disrespecting him as his father believed. Witnessing this tragic event warped Vega's mind and from then on he lived a double life; a suave nobleman by day and a narcissistic killer by night who enjoys mutilating ugly people to death using a three-pronged wrist-mounted razor-sharp claw. His very first victim was his father. Vega's brutal fighting skills and remorseless nature impressed the criminal leader known as M. Bison so much that he came to him personally with an offer to join Shadaloo. Vega accepted Bison's offer purely to improve his own aesthetic senses. (Source: Street Fighter Wikia)
