Synopsis

Takemichi Hanagaki's life is at an all-time low. Just when he thought it could not get worse, he finds out that Hinata Tachibana, his ex-girlfriend, was murdered by the Tokyo Manji Gang: a group of vicious criminals that has been disturbing society's peace for quite some time. Wondering where it all went wrong, Takemichi suddenly finds himself traveling through time, ending up 12 years in the past—when he was still in a relationship with Hinata. Realizing he has a chance to save her, Takemichi resolves to infiltrate the Tokyo Manji Gang and climb the ranks in order to rewrite the future and save Hinata from her tragic fate. Tokyo卍Revengers won the 44th Kodansha Manga Award in the Shounen category in 2020. The series ranked 12th in the 2022 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! for the Male Readers division. As of June 2024, over 80 million copies of the manga are in circulation. The series was published digitally in English as Tokyo Revengers by Kodansha USA from October 16, 2018, to June 13, 2023, and in print by Seven Seas Entertainment as 2-in-1 omnibus volumes from July 26, 2022, to March 25, 2025. It was also released in French by Glénat Éditions from April 17, 2019, to July 3, 2024; in Polish by Waneko from August 12, 2021, to January 17, 2023; in Argentina by Editorial Ivrea since October 22, 2021; in Brazilian Portuguese by Editora JBC since July 7, 2022; and in Romanian by Nezumi since October 18, 2023. He rarely shows any sign of weakness, as he believes himself to be the foundation and support for Toman, and if the pillar himself were to display weakness, Toman would also be weakened. As Toman's leader, his aura changes dramatically, becoming imposing and commanding. While its members respect Mikey, they also hold a degree of fear toward him and his immense prowess. He is also concerned for Toman on an individual level, as shown when he decides to rally the entire gang to seek revenge for one of its member's friend.

He is one of Mikey's closest confidants and friends, since he is also Toman's vice-captain. Draken often seems to represent the role of the moral part of the duo, since he appears very conscientious. For example, he later tries to persuade Kazutora to reconcile with Mikey and prevent the war between Valhalla and Toman. Draken has tremendous fighting power and is probably Toman's strongest fighter after Mikey. He loves to work on motorcycles and dreams of running his own motorcycle (repair) store later on. Since Draken doesn't seem to have a family, he lives in Shibuya in a building where women do favors for money. He has a room there and was also more or less raised by the owner, even though this seems quite unusual.
