    Yamanbagiri Kunihiro is one of the Kunihiro blades, which was commissioned by an Ashikaga lord who admired the beauty of the original Yamanbagiri. He admits that he is a replica of the real Yamanbagiri, but vehemently defends his position as the masterpiece of Kunihiro, and wouldn't hesitate to draw his blade at anyone who calls him an imposter wannabe or a fake. Noteworthy for being the only piece of his creator that is in the Kotou ("old sword") style.

    A sword that is associated with a ghost story. A samurai was on a journey and had to stay the night at an inn. At night, a woman and her child appeared in front of him and giggled in an unsettling manner. The samurai demanded to know who they were to no avail and when they kept coming toward him, giggling, he panicked and beheaded both of them. In the morning, there was no dead body. Instead, the samurai saw two stone lamps, the tops of which were cut off, and realized that he "killed" two ghosts. His blade was named "Nikkari" after the incident.

Since he survived the intense fight of Ikedaya affair without bending or breaking when he's held by his previous master, Kondou Isami, the head commander of Shinsengumi, there's no doubt that he's a strong sword.
