For millions of years, Master Megatron (simply Megatron in the dub) has led fanatical legions of evil Destrons (Decepticons) on their war for conquest of the Universe. A living weapon with dozens of self-inflicted modifications made in the name of increased power and destructive capability, his only weakness is a single-minded desire for the enslavement of the Universe. His intellect, ego and talent for deception are second to none, and he rules his Destron army with an iron-fisted combination of fear and force of personality. He is determined to beat Galaxy Convoy (Optimus Prime) and the Cybertrons (Autobots) and find the lost Planet Forces (Cyber Planet Keys).

Though recorded history pegs him as 25 million years old, he has identified himself as 9 billion years old, making the clockwork-covered Transformer one of the Thirteen. Despite his age, Vector Prime is very powerful, and can warp both space and time, though excessive use of this power can severely weaken him.

Racing is what gives Nitro Convoy's life meaning, and he boasts of a fleetness unmatched even on planet Speedia. Thanks to his remarkable abilities, he rules as Speedia's leader, and all its inhabitants show respect and admiration for him. However, he is not seeking the universal peace that the Planet Force will bring, but instead continues to quest after only his own speed. Yet, I believe that he is bound to join the Cybertron forces in pursuit of the fate that will steer the stars.

Lori is an adolescent female human who assists the Cybertrons during the search for the Planet Force. Raised in the city, her family recently moved to rural Colorado, a place she hates. While she certainly outshines her friends Bud and Coby in the social arena, she is not perfect, and more often than not, she can be reduced to immature shouting matches with Coby. She has a very intense... rivalry with Coby. During the battle to save Seibertron from the Grand Black Hole, Lori befriended Nitro Convoy and Flame Convoy, leaders of Speedia and the Animatron. She also quickly developed a deep and abiding hatred of the female Decepticon "floozy" Chromia.

Coby Hansen is the primary human character in Cybertron. The character has been used in the television series, comic book series, and collection of children's toys manufactured by Takara Tomy in conjunction with Hasbro. In the series, he is a mechanically-inclined 14-year-old who is often called on by the Transformers to do repairs. He lives in Colorado with his younger brother, Bud, and older brother, Tim and enjoys dirtbike racing and has worked at a mechanic's shop. Coby and Bud, along with their friend, Lori (the only female of the series), befriended the Autobots after finding and aiding the damaged Landmine. He develops a friendship with Landmine, and aids Hot Shot on Velocitron. Later in the show, he actually refits a destroyed Scrapmetal as his own personal vehicle called the Cobybot ("Cobyrumble" in Galaxy Force), earning himself an Autobot Commission and an active role in the battles after he used it to save Bud, who was trapped among the Decepticons.
