About this title

Synopsis

When you come from a family of exorcists and mediums, you're expected to have certain powers. But despite having a psychic lineage, Kouhei Midou can't predict the future, nor can he see dead people. He's powerless in every sense of the word. However, he does think fast on his feet, and with a little help from his psychic cousin Seiji, he's an amazing crime solver. The mystery he wants to solve more than anything is his mother's tragic disappearance. But it isn't easy... especially in this world, where nothing is as it seems. Cats talk, blood-sucking vampires roam the earth, and monsters eat guys like Kouhei for breakfast. Can Kouhei survive this chaos long enough to find the mother that he's lost?! (Source: Tokyopop)

Age: 1300+ (chronologically) 13 (physically) Birthday: July 30th Hazuki, also known by her alternate personality Luna, is a young vampire girl who first appears imprisoned in the castle of Schwarz Quelle in Germany. Born into an aristocratic vampire family, she possesses a stubborn and prideful streak, yet hides a vulnerable side shaped by isolation and family conflict. Her blue eyes, long raven-black hair, and petite frame make her striking, while her personality swings between haughty/bossy and shy/warm. After being freed from her magical confinement by photographer Kouhei Morioka, Hazuki follows him to Japan and begins living under his care. Her relationship with Kouhei grows from reluctant dependence into deep trust, as they face supernatural threats and the manipulations of her vampire relatives. Over time, she struggles with the inner battle between her true self, Hazuki, and the more domineering Luna persona. When we first meet her, she appears physically young, yet behaves like a fourteen-year-old girl. Hazuki’s true chronological age is implied to be far greater due to her vampire nature. Her story is one of self-discovery, the reclaiming of personal freedom, and finding family beyond blood ties. Through humor, conflict, and moments of tenderness, Hazuki transforms from a lonely captive into someone capable of forging her own path. (Source: Tsukuyomi: Moon Phase Wiki)

Kouhei is a photographer who, due to an accident involving paranormal forces in his early childhood, is oblivious to spirits and the supernatural (which he specializes in photographing). He is an "Ama Lamia" (Vampire Lover), meaning no vampire can make him their servant. Furthermore, vampires who feed on him have their servitude ties with their masters broken, making of him a threat to the vampires' society structure. Later it is revealed that he possesses great spiritual powers which were sealed by his family in order to allow him to live a normal life, as they were too strong for him to control. From their first meeting, he and Hazuki have a tempestuous but affectionate relationship that eventually turns into romance. In the manga, Kouhei's surname is Midou. Source: Wikipedia
