Ares95 fan favoritesExternal profileThe title character of the manhwa, Ares, is the apprentice of Kiron, the famous Master Swordsman of Chronos. His birth name is Sebastion, but he suffered amnesia after jumping off of a cliff to escape the assassin Alamoot "The Quick". After the now retired and wandering Kiron saved him and took him as an apprentice Sebastion gave himself the name Ares, the name of the Greek God of war. After 6 years of training, Kirberos, the Red-Eyed Swordsman, tracked down Kiron and killed him to collect his sword. Ares lost his right eye to Kirberos during this fight and vowed vengeance. Ares is light-hearted and friendly in normal situations. He is goofy, cracks jokes, and behaves as if he is simple-minded. For example, he joins Temple Mercenaries because they provide meals for their members. Although he is only 18 years old, Ares is deadly in battle. As expected of Kiron's apprentice, few can stand against his fighting ability. He fights with a sword, but he will eliminate weaker opponents with only kicks or elbow strikes. His swordplay and fighting style incorporate quick, hard strikes and acrobatic maneuvers to both evade enemy attacks and enhance the momentum of his own. He makes good use of his environment—launching off walls, dropping chandeliers on enemies, taking swords from fallen soldiers if his own breaks. Temple Mercenaries gave him B-Rank status after his first skirmish. He and his friends Mikael, Baroona, and Gohue belong to the Temple Mercenaries' 4th Regiment, 2nd Squadron, Troop 3. Michael Gracio39 fan favoritesExternal profileA companion of Ares and of Baroona, he participated in the same Temple mercenary entrance exam as them. He distinguished himself there through the time he took to send his opponent to the ground: a second. Everyone understood that they had seen someone with great talent. He had a major role in the fight waged by the army of Chronos (which, led by the General-and-later-King Icarus, bought the services of the Temple mercenaries) to the point that he become highly esteemed by his comrades-in-arms as well as by Icarus himself. The latter proposed for him to become one of his generals after an impressive fight against a terrible opponent; Michael declined the offer. He always has a leaf in the mouth, which is enough for him to be recognized (and addressed) by this characteristic. On the other hand, it is rather funny to see it systematically having to be put back in his mouth because it was pulled out at some point in the fight. With the passing of chapters, one notices that Michael hides something of his identity and his true intentions. Silent, he only speaks up to say precise things, which are often threatening. His personage is, following the example of Sasuke in the anime Naruto, completely ambiguous and difficult to get a handle on. He is cruel, not leaving any survivor behind him. That contrasts with the behavior of Ares who seems to like Michael to the point of considering him a true friend. It is only at the end of the war against the Daraakians that one learns Michael's nature and his true designs. No voice actors have been added to this character. Baroona26 fan favoritesExternal profileHe was involved with the Temple Mercenaries at the same time as Ares and participated in the same examination of entry. He passes the test in an original way since he dodged his opponents' attacks until the time was up. Like Ares, Baroona is quick to promote and seems not like the other mercenaries. He uses a unique weapon: two daggers linked by a rope-like cable that is resistant to steel It is revealed to us that Baroona was the champion of the gladiators in the country of Daraak, of which he escaped to rejoin Stopwatches. He keeps track of his previous life through the affixed tattoo on the back of all the gladiators of Daraak. Baroona fights in the war against the Daraak Empire, which is part of the Raddnik alliance, on the side of the Chronosians as part of the Temple Mercenaries. Baroona is a calm, kind and may be perceived as the personage "plug" in the middle of his two friends. Constant smoker, he fights calmly and intelligently. He is the same age as Ares, 18 years, and has a strong resentment against the Daraak Empire who took away his freedom. No voice actors have been added to this character.
