Synopsis
Gangryong is a high schooler unlike others. He has always had a dream of being the strongest. One day he meets Yoochun, who teaches him a powerful skill. One year later, people come to see him and announce that his "master" is dead. Because he was his only student, Gangryong has to follow them and go to a school where everybody has supernatural powers. (Source: MU)

Gangryong Ma103 fan favoritesExternal profileThe main protagonist in the series. Gangryong is 18 years-old and the sole remaining practitioner of the Enlightenment Of Thunder and Lightning (EOTL). Though fairly dense, he shows an aptitude for battle and street smarts that seem well-suited to his underdog status at the Reunion school, he once even fought with both arms broken and one broken leg. Mouthy and disrespectful, he has a penchant for making enemies which to date has served him only to win less than a handful of actual fights with him usually ending up unconscious. He usually has flashbacks of Lightning Tiger's teachings and his fighting style is Dog Fighting and since he started his training later than most, his Ki channels are very clogged, so he has very limited amount of Ki but it's highly refined, so much so that after being hit with "Life wish" his body began releasing it like an electric eel, nearly killing him. He is extremely knowledgeable about fighting and at Rud's request is aiming for one of the council seats. He is only capable of close ranged EOTL techniques as of current. In volume 8 he fights against Hayato and loses due to Hayato having learned Northern Broad Strike and aquired a move that countered Gangryong's EOTL. Later in volume 9 he is the only of the students fighting Fire Dragon, that can land a clear and decisive hit on Fire Dragon.Four months later he is much stronger , as several fighters including two level 8's were knocked unconscious on the path towards his room. Honse then commented his skill level to be at level 9. Right before the student council elections, he secretly takes on both Guhoo and Shinra who are displeased with his rapid progress. He provokes Guhoo into anger and defeats him in one hit. Leaving Shinra alone due to the fact that he believes he is now stronger than her and continuing the fight 1 on 1 would prove pointless. Techniques: * Lightning Fist - The user creates positive and negative charges in his fist and collides them, creating lightning, it has a stun effect, the effectiveness depends on the user's skill which can produce either a current that stuns the opponent for a long duration of time or a current that lasts only for very short time. This also depends on who the opponent is because if they are powerful enough, dispersing the effect with their own Ki would be quite easy. * Thunder Break - Officially known as the Fist of Reverse Lightning, it was renamed by Lightning Tiger. It works by only creating a negative charge while using the enemies positive charge used to guard against Lightning Fist to create a lightning effect, it disrupts the flow of Ki in the body of the enemy, the effectiveness of the technique depends on many separate factors, the user's skill level in the art and current condition when using Thunder Break, and the opponent's toughness and body density, with these factors the effect of the disruption can be very damaging or very weak. * Electric Yo-Yo - Officially known as (Magnetic Force of Lightning Space), it's basic theory is "Static Electricity" and it works by changing the voltage of the users body and uses the flow of Ki as a current to shock the enemy. You generate negative charge on the left hand while inhaling and create a positive charge on the right hand while exhaling. Until he lets go the person will be continuously shocked so it's considered a kill technique. * Half-Step - A dodge skill that was created by Gu Honse from Dohyup's family's traditional art, although Honse created a highly similar technique four years ago to counter Reunionists. It has an effectiveness of 70% average but against Reunion styles it's average rate increases to 95% overall. * Lightning Flash - Gathers electricity on three points around the hand and discharges it. In chapter 37, it was used to disperse the extra Ki build up in Gangryong's body due to rushing the purifying process of EOTL.In his fight with Fire Dragon,it seems he is more adapted in the usage of this attack, as he can strike and make characters like him bleed. Vera Linus18 fan favoritesExternal profileThe student council president. An outwardly cold girl, she is the most powerful student at the school. Her sister, Yuri, is the head of Reunion. Her initial impression of Gangryong is that he is useless. In the past, she fought Lightning Tiger, and the incident left a scar and a strong impression. Though he was her enemy, she regards him almost as a former lover. She fights using the Arts of Heaven's Rich Strength. What she seeks can't be obtained by Reunion or the council and she actually hold no interest in them. She fights Guesong after he interfered in her goal and kills him, afterward Rud challenges her to a formal match next year. But then she kills everu student in the school except Rud's company and few who escaped earlier. After that she makes Rud die in exchange of his friends' lifes. Techniques: Special Void Fist - Is a traditional martial art skill that is only used by the main bloodline of Art o Heaven's Riches.Used by gathering the user's Ki into their palms and are directed towards their opponent's heart to cause extreme internal damage. Void Strike Class - A technique that can constrict an opponent's heart from a medium (approximately 5-10m) distance away. Fire Dragon claims the counter technique was pioneered by Lightning Tiger himself. Vacuum Strike - A blast that expands the emptiness in a distance. Honse Gu12 fan favoritesExternal profileLeader of the Nine Dragons Faction. Gangryong was put in the care of Gu Honse by friends Rud and Jeeha. On the surface, he is as a cowardly man who doesn't like getting mixed up with Gangryong's messes. However, beneath his foolish persona, he is very dangerous. He was, at one point, the third-strongest student at the school. In addition, he is a shrewd tactician who developed many techniques, some of which were specifically designed to counter the fighting style of Reunion such as "Half-step", he also helped Rud learn "Sharpened Sword force". Rud Han10 fan favoritesExternal profileA member of the council who is opposed to Vera. Rud was a very frail child with little potential for fighting. His life was once saved by a girl named Anichella, who taught him basic martial arts techniques and arranges for his arrival at the school. She also provides him with information on the Feline Claws fighting style, which he pursues despite its inherent weakness. He develops a strong grudge against Guhoo after he kills Anichella in battle, and uses this motivation to rise to the top of the school. He and Jeeha have taken Gangryong under their wing, as they are also traditional successors. They seem to have a plan for revenge against Vera and her friends. Jeeha Shin2 fan favoritesExternal profileRud's friend, who is also a traditional successor and the Third Dragon of the Nine Dragons. He likes to antagonize Shinra by expressing his undying affection for her, and referencing a relationship they used to have. His martial arts style has not yet been shown. It has been stated that if Rud didn't help him in the past, Shinra would have stolen his art. Understanding bodily principles is his specialty. He is shown in volume 9 to have an enormous speed that allows him to run on the walls, and several powerful spinning kicks attacks. It was stated in a flashback in chapter 38, Jeeha had apparently been badly injured due to all three of his matches had each been fought with a member from the student council (the ones that had lost in the tournament at that time in the flashback were Shinra, Paul, Madoka, Guesong, Yuhwa, and Hayato), however he had won all three matches so it is safe to assume that Shin is very powerful to accomplish such a feat. In fact in what commented that Shin had destroyed the order of how the council had planned for to win in the tournament further indicating his prowess to be very high. He was an old friend of Lightning Tiger's, as he was the one who reassembled the pieces of his arm. They split when Fire Dragon chose to side with Yuri in her quest to become a god. He could be the one who killed Lightning Tiger, as the bones of the arm were charred. He recently tried to attack Vera and Earth Beast. It is revealed in volume 8 that the person that killed Lighting Tiger, was Yuri Linus. In volume 9 Fire Dragon attacks Madoka and Hayato, after they protest of the training (lethal) given to Kombengi; Rud and Shin interfere and attack Fire Dragon, they are helped latter by Yuhwa, but still are no match, Gangryong appears and also attacks Fire Dragon (The only one of the fighters to land a hit on him), after Gangryong dispels a fire vortex and Vera appears, Fire Dragon calmly leaves the place. Later is shown that while he was moving and walking normally after the fight, he was injured to the point of vomiting blood. It is to be noted the immense power of Fire Dragon, to be able to sustain a combined attack from some of the most powerful students in the school (Against five members of the Student Council and Gangryong) easily neutralizing Shin, Madoka, Hayato and Rud at the same time.
