Emil Castagnier27 fan favoritesExternal profileHis parents were killed by Lloyd Irving, the main protagonist in the original Tales of Symphonia. He is portrayed as a coward, but promises to protect Marta Lualdi, the bearer of the Ratatosk Core by forming a contract with the Lord of Monsters, Ratatosk, thus making him the Knight of Ratatosk. He receives the strength to fight against monsters through this contract, making his voice deepen, his eyes turn red, and his attitude bolder. In the duration of this phase, Emil is more violent and blood-thirsty, which is why some call him a monster. This form is later on called "Ratatosk Mode". His goal is to help Marta hatch the Centurion Cores and ultimately avenge the death of his parents. (Source: Wikipedia) No voice actors have been added to this character. Richter Abend9 fan favoritesExternal profileAt the beginning of the game, Richter is shown to be a cold and cynical person, criticizing Emil for not being able to stand up for himself. When Emil goes to thank him for scaring off some bullies, Richter reveals his hatred for cowards, but also gives a mantra of inspiration to Emil: "Courage is the magic that turns dreams into reality". While Richter is tutoring Emil, he also admits that he is very short toward people, but that it does not mean he has something against them. He also remarks that he has no intention of changing his methods of doing things. (Source: Wikipedia)
Marta Lualdi4 fan favoritesExternal profileMarta tends to think along right-and-wrong lines. A bit of a tomboy, Marta is passionate about getting her way. On the left side of her forehead lies Ratatosk's core, imprisoned in a dormant state. Emil Castagnier became her guardian knight, a Knight of Ratatosk, in order to protect her and Ratatosk's core. She views him as effeminate, but believes he possesses a hidden strength which is why she reminds him by saying "Come on. You're a man! Speak up!" Marta falls in love with both Emil and Ratatosk Mode Emil. As the game progresses, she begins to love Emil for who he actually is, instead of the fantasy she created in his image. Marta also gets very jealous when Emil tries to get along with other girls, mainly Colette, Sheena and Raine, stating that she shall not give up on getting Emil's heart. Being the romantic that she is, Marta will fully support anyone's attempts at a relationship as long as its not directed towards her or Emil. Tenebrae2 fan favoritesExternal profilethe Centurion of Darkness, and his resting place lies deep in the Temple of Darkness. Because of Colette Brunel, he has gained several nicknames, such as Tenebie, Doggie, Mr. Doggie, Tennie and Braebrae, though the most used of them is Tenebie. He is also called Tenebonehead by Aqua, the Centurion of Water. Tenebrae acts as a mentor for Emil Castagnier throughout the game in order to awaken Ratatosk. He is also very loyal to Marta Lualdi, who carries Ratatosk’s core on her forehead. He is a witty character and adds a lot of comedy and information to the game. However, Tenebrae is also very conservative, as he dislikes being called "Tenebie” and gets angry if Ratatosk is disrespected. In numerous skits, many of the characters describe him as spiteful.
