About this title

Synopsis

The ruthless Minister Honest exploits the ignorance of a new young Emperor and deviously rules the country from the shadows with twisted morals and no regard for human life. As a result of this, an epidemic of crime and corruption has spread throughout the country's capital city, and a state of society ensues where the privileged have absolute domination over the lesser. However, there exists an organization to combat this rife abuse of power: Night Raid, a secret division of the oppositionary Revolutionary Army. It is composed of a small team of ruthless assassins who murder all those who partake in or turn a blind eye to the Empire's outrageous wrongdoings. Tatsumi is a naïve, sword-wielding young man on a journey to save his impoverished village. Soon, he witnesses the bloody horrors and cruelty of the capital firsthand. Overcome with hatred, Tatsumi is swayed by Night Raid's profound cause and decides to join them, embarking on a painful and dangerous mission to exact revenge on Minister Honest. Tatsumi gains many invaluable experiences as he unravels the ethics of conflicting ideologies, life and death, all while working toward the restoration of a humane world. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Family: Kurome (sister) Famous quote: "It's because I loved her most that I wanted to kill her as swiftly as possible." Akame is one of the members of the Assassin's group Night Raid. She is the first member to attack Tatsumi, and comes very close to killing him. She initially appears very serious and cold-hearted, but she is actually caring and worries about the safety of her comrades. She has a younger sister named Kurome, who is a member of the Jaegers, and loyal to the Empire. Akame is often considered to be one of the stronger members of Night Raid, slaying even the strongest of enemies with minimal effort. Her hellish assassination training allows her combat ability to be on par with those as powerful as General within the military levels of the Empire. Her Teigu, One Cut Killer: Murasame, is a katana known for being coated in an immensely deadly poison that can kill those cut by it within seconds. (Source: Akame ga Kill! Wiki)

Age: 16-17 Height: 155 cm (5'1") Blood type: B Faction: Night Raid Favorite color: pink Teigu: Pumpkin Born and raised in the western borders of the Empire, Mine spent her most of her childhood under harsh ridicule and misery from people for her half foreign blood. She joined the Revolutionary Army after learning it was forming alliances with countries from the west. With the promise of a new country where diplomatic relations with the People of West would improve, she fights so others of her race can be accepted and their children would not go through the discrimination and suffering she had. Mine is a self-proclaimed "Genius Sniper," as well as being a sharp-tongued and quick-witted member of the assassin's group, Night Raid. She is often quick to anger, and easily irritated with those she does not know well. Despite this cold exterior, she has shown to be warm and kind to those she has opened up to. Mine wields a powerful Teigu in the form of a rifle called the "Roman Artillery: Pumpkin" that that can shoot in 3 modes: sniper, machine gun and long barrel, it fires highly concentrated piercing shots of spirit energy. Her proficiency in its use allows her to strike any target with extreme precision. The energy output is proportional to the user feeling of danger, and it overheats on continuous usage. She can also switch parts with her Teigu. One of those parts allows her to slash with spirit energy, another allows her to fire quicker shots in succession but this considerably lowers her attack power. Mine also carries an eye piece stored in a compartment inside her teigu, allowing her to scout and snipe from a distance. She also appears to be quite adept in hand to hand combat, as she was seen sparring with Akame. Her major weakness is that she leaves her back vulnerable to attacks. (Source: Akame ga Kill! Wikia)

Further on whilst competing in a fighting tournament sponsored by the Empire he unknowingly manages to steal Esdeath's heart who unceremoniously decides to make Tatsumi her lover, much to his discomfort.
