About this title
Synopsis
When three Digimon fans -- Rika, Henry, and our lead Takato -- suddenly find themselves with "real" Digimon, they discover a living creature under your care is far harder to deal with than a few pixels on your TV screen. The kids try to be Digimon 'Tamers,' aka Digimon caretakers, but they all seem to have different opinions on what that should entail. Rika thinks Digimon should fight, Henry thinks they should never fight, and Takato ... seems to be somewhere in the middle. Being a Tamer isn't just about believing one thing or another. It's about learning and adjusting for the good of everyone else. But they have a long way to go, and their problems are just beginning. (Source: Toykoypop)

Main characters
Impmon177 fan favoritesExternal profileA tricky Digimon who lives in the human world and seems to have it in for the Tamers. Once belonging to two young kids, he left them to live on his own and gain power. Despite his small size, he is fairly powerful (though he runs more than he fights) and can blast enemies with fire-based attacks. Not truly evil, yet not quite a hero either.
Terriermon168 fan favoritesExternal profileTerriermon is the partner digimon of Henry Wong. He appears as a main character in the Digimon Tamers anime series. Attacks - Bunny Blast (Blazing Fire): Terriermon fires energy blasts from his mouth. This can be in either a rapid round of tiny blasts, or in one large concentrated blast. - Terrier Tornado (Petit Twister): Terriermon spins himself around and shoots a green tornado at his enemies. Digivolutions: Champion: Gargomon (Galgomon) Ultimate: Rapidmon Mega: MegaGargomon (SaintGalgomon)
Ruki Makino161 fan favoritesExternal profileRuki is the type of person who, in the beginning, sees Digimon as nothing more than mere computer data. She aspires for her partner, Renamon, to become the strongest Digimon ever. Eventually, she realizes that the two must be on equal partnership and friendship. She is a bit bitter and slightly antisocial thanks to her parents' divorce, but Takato, Jenrya and Renamon, manage to bring out the best in her, by showing her (among other things) that friendship is priceless. Ruki's relationship with Renamon is unusual (due to Renamon being the most mature of rookie Digimon), they talk as equal than either a pet or a playful child. Ruki's proud, independent, grouchy and cynical personality is substantially different from most of the female characters in the series, pretty much a typical teenage rebel.
Guilmon159 fan favoritesExternal profileGuilmon is a curious and naive digimon, the youngest of the partner Digimon. He was created from Takato's imagination and brought to life by the Blue Card. At first, Guilmon had not been aware of the differences between humans and Digimon, calling his partner Tamer "Takatomon". Guilmon is normally playful and friendly, proving to be quite popular with Takato's classmates for being a real live Digimon. Despite being portrayed as childlike, Guilmon does at times show deep insight. For example, when Takato didn't want Guilmon to digivolve, in fear that Guilmon would no longer be the same, Guilmon pointed out that Takato has changed over time as well, but he is still the same person. Guilmon had one of the deepest realtionships with his tamer out of the whole series, the two did many things together and conquering many hurdles. Guilmon is very loyal and protective of Takato and would do anything for him. When Guilmon dark-digivolved into Megidramon it was because of their deep bond that Takato managed to come to his senses which allowed him to rescue Guilmon and bring him back, later allowing them to biomerge to Gallantmon to fight Beezlemon. Renamon149 fan favoritesExternal profileRenamon is tall and powerful for a Rookie level Digimon, and is far more mature than the other Rookie Digimon, considering its experience and jaded view on life. Renamon's feral features and penetrating icy blue eyes can make it seem quite intimidating even when it does not mean to give that impression. Renamon's Tamer is Ruki, and is a main character in the Digimon Tamers season (as well as the two related movies Battle of Adventurers and Runaway Locomon). Renamon can evolve into Kyubimon (Champion), Taomon (Ultimate) and Sakuyamon/Sakuyamon Maid Mode (Mega).
Takato Matsuda126 fan favoritesExternal profileTakato is a cheerful and kind person and loves Digimon, loving to play the Digimon card game and drawing Digimon he made up. One such Digimon became his partner; Guilmon. He became fast friends with Henry Wong and his partner, Terriermon. (Source: Wikipedia)
Jianliang Li44 fan favoritesExternal profileThe human partner of Terriermon, he is known for his calm presence and pacifist attitude. He is half-Japanese/half-Chinese. (Source: Wikipedia)
Culumon31 fan favoritesExternal profileCulumon's role is not that of a fighter, and his immature antics and over-expressed emotions leave little doubt about this fact. In Digimon Tamers, Culumon is the only Digimon on the protagonist's side who had no tamer.
Juri Katou29 fan favoritesExternal profileJeri Katou, known in Japan as Juri Katou (加藤 樹莉, Katō Juri?), is a fictional character from the Digimon Tamers series. Usually shown with her sock puppet early on in the series, Jeri is a cheerful and sweet person who is always there to encourage her friends. It is made clear that Takato Matsuki has a crush on her.
