Synopsis

Three months ago, Yuuta "Yuu" Mito was a part-time worker at a Chinese restaurant in Wakayama, Japan. Now, the teenager has been stranded in the magical realm of Twisted Wonderland after a black horse-drawn carriage ran into him while he was delivering a customer's order. Unable to return to his original world, the magicless Yuu found himself enrolled at the prestigious Night Raven College in the meantime. A strange happening around the campus emerges following the exam season, with several students sprouting sea anemones from the top of their heads—including Yuu's friends Grim, Ace Trappola, and Deuce Spade. Matters only worsen when those affected are told that they have become indentured servants to Octavinelle's housewarden, Azul Ashengrotto, as a result of magical contracts they had previously signed with him. Unaffected since he never entered a deal with Azul, Yuu must find a way to break the contracts and save his friends. But completing this task without any magic of his own may prove more daunting than he realizes, as the odds begin to stack against him. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Azul Ashengrotto is a second-year student and the head of the Octavinelle Dormitory. He manages Mostro Lounge, a café located in the Octavinelle dormitory building. Though he claims to help others out, the wishes he grants often come at a price. His family runs a very famous restaurant back in the Sea of Corals, however Azul dislikes it. He knows how to play the piano, and was in a band with Jade (contrabass) and Floyd (drums) in middle school. His unique magic is called "It's A Deal". As long as someone signs a contract with him, he’ll be able to confiscate one of the target’s abilities. This can be a magical ability or a physical capability, such as a beautiful singing voice or ability to swim fast. He likes to collect mushrooms and make terrariums. Jade's unique magic is called "Shock The Heart." Whoever looks into his left eye is forced to only speak the truth after he, specifically, ask them a question. He can only use his ability on a person once, and it's not guaranteed to work on strong magicians or overly cautious people. It works best against those who let their guard down or become frightened.
