About this title

Synopsis

It, a mysterious immortal being, is sent to the Earth with no emotions nor identity. However, It is able to take the shape of those around that have a strong impetus. At first, It is a sphere. Then, It imitates the form of a rock. As the temperature drops and snow falls atop the moss, It inherits the moss. When an injured, lone wolf comes limping by and lays down to die, It takes on the form of the animal. Finally, It gains consciousness and begins to traverse the empty tundra until It meets a boy. The boy lives alone in a ghost town, which the adults abandoned long ago in search of the paradise said to exist far beyond the endless sea of white tundra. However, their efforts were for naught, and now the boy is in a critical state. Acquiring the form of the boy, It sets off on a never-ending journey, in search of new experiences, places, and people. Publication notes

Fumetsu no Anata e ranked third in the 2018 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! for the Male Readers division. It was nominated for the 11th Manga Taisho Award in 2018 and placed fifth in the final ranking. In 2019, the manga won the 43rd Kodansha Manga Award in the shounen category, along with 5-toubun no Hanayome. The series was simulpub digitally in English as To Your Eternity. The volumes have been published by Kodansha USA since October 31, 2017. It has also been published in Spain by Milky Way Ediciones; in Argentina by Editorial Ivrea; in Brazilian Portuguese by NewPOP Editora; in French by Pika Édition; in Russian by Istari Comics; and in Polish by Kotori.

His original form was a featureless white sphere. Without consciousness, he copied the first thing he bumped into, which happened to be a rock. Soon afterward, he became moss and stayed like that for some time. When a wounded wolf wandered close in the middle of winter and died, the immortal copied the wolf. He retains the ability to turn into these things. Later, after the death of The Nameless Boy, he mimicked the boy's appearance and took the form of a young boy with white hair, pale complexion, and green eyes. He wears a short, brown fur cloak and a light blue shirt and pants with fur boots. A rope dangled from his hand and neck as The Nameless Boy died holding Joaan's leash, though the latter soon disappeared. The injury that took The Boy's life is also present on Fushi's left leg.
