About this title
Synopsis
Ichirou Inuyashiki is an old father worn down by the hardships of life, rendering him helpless and weak. Although he is friendless, unloved by his family, and diagnosed with cancer, he decides to try living his best life and adopts a dog. However, while walking his dog one night, the reality of his hopeless situation settles in and he breaks into sobs in a park. But that sadness is short-lived, as an encounter with an extraterrestrial object leaves him with a healthy yet mechanical body. Unsettled by the foreign body and his inability to cry anymore, Inuyashiki starts to believe he has lost his humanity. However, one night, he saves a homeless man from death, and the sight of the happy and grateful man moves him to tears—proving to him that he is still a human. From that moment onward, Inuyashiki resolves to put his new power to use for the purpose of saving those in need. Unfortunately, his joy does not last for long, for he finds that there is a new threat determined to revel in its own newfound power through horrifying means. Thus, Inuyashiki's mission turns from being a small-time neighborhood hero to a guardian against a thriving monster. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Ichirou Inuyashiki992 fan favoritesExternal profileThe protagonist of this story. He is the oldest of the Inuyashiki household and despite being fifty eight years old, he looks much older causing people to view him as a pathetic old man. His whole family disrespects and mistreats him and he has no friends except for his beloved dog, Hanako. After being told he had cancer and on the verge of death, a meteor strikes him down and he is transformed into a cyborg. He chose to save people with his new abilities because he didn't want to lose his humanity.
Hiro Shishigami804 fan favoritesExternal profileHiro Shishigami is a high-school student and the main antagonist of Inuyashiki. Hiro lived with his mother and is currently wanted as the most dangerous serial killer currently alive. Not much else is known about Hiro. After being infused with alien cyborg technology, he begins to use his newfound modifications to help himself feel emotion, by way of committing serial murder. He begins by causing traffic accidents and general disturbances before quickly progressing to committing serial murder, often of random families. He is eventually identified and pursued by the police after being turned in by Ichirou Inuyashiki and his former best friend, Naoyuki Andou, and is currently on the run. Shishigami has the same powers as Ichirou Inuyashiki, namely flight, advanced combat abilities, advanced healing abilities, and the ability to seamlessly communicate with any electronic device, as well as having technology seamlessly integrated into his body. However, unlike Inuyashiki, Shishigami instead uses his powers to commit crimes, usually murder and theft. This predisposition to violence might be a result of being bullied or living in less-than ideal conditions with only his mother, but has not been revealed yet. Shishigami is fond of imitating guns to kill his victims.
